Evening ladies,

Now, after several threads in the last couple of weeks about how awful I feel and what to do about it, I now have the opposite problem..

A few days ago my sickeness just lifted, but I'll only be 8 weeks on sunday. I still have other symptoms; food and drink and smell aversions, I'm very tired, and if I don't eat for a few hours then I can start to feel a bit sick and sart to gag. I suppose I'm very mildly nauseous now.

Inevitably I'm now paranoid that this is a bad sign. It's so different to how I was with DS, where I felt sick week 6-12, but not as sick as I was last week.

So, anyone else had this?!

my nausea lifted at about 9 weeks along with my other symptoms but the nausea came back after a few days. Am now 33+4 and all is going fine

Thanks emma. I know I should probably just appreciate feeling a bit better!

its understandable to worry - I ended up at the EPU for a scan to check everything was ok as all my symptoms disappeared so quickly. Its so odd wanting to feel rotten but completely normal Smile

I'm not sure if I should call the EPU as I still have a few sypmtoms, just the strength of them have reduced so dramatically. How were they when you called them? I've got a not-to-good history with our local maternity services so I'm not too keen to get a telling off by them this early!

They were really lovely. I'd had cramping one day, then the next all my symptoms (nausea, dizziness, exhaustion and sore breasts) completely disappeared so I called them and got an appointment for the following day. It was before I'd seen a midwife so didn't know who to phone for advice. It might be worth giving them a call just to see whether they think its worth a quick scan or not

This will not be what you want to hear and I know people want to be positive but with my last pregnancy my morning sickness stopped at 9 weeks about four days before a scheduled scan - I was so glad - but the scan showed the baby had died. Morning sickness can certainly stop at 9 weeks with no sinister cause but I'd forget the not-too-good history and ask for a scan - much more important to be re-assured.

Thanks emma and Yellow. If I still feel like this tomorrow I'll give them a call. A lovely lovely colleague of mine has just had a MC at 11 weeks Sad so it's all very close at the moment.

yellow I'm so sorry to hear that, hugs.

Hi, my morning sickness stopped at about 8 weeks with DC2 as well (am now 29 weeks). This really worried me because I remember 8 weeks was its peak with DC1, and it went on generally until 14 weeks. In particular what I couldn't understand was how it stopped at 8 weeks when I had felt so so so bad at just 5 weeks.

Turned out I was a week ahead of my dates (conceived in week 3 of my cycle!) plus possibly my body got to grips with being pregnant a bit earlier this time.

So I totally understand why you are worried but it is still within the range of normal! My friend recommended to me somewhere you can go and have a private scan, but I didn't go because I was too scared of the result - wish I had as it would have saved me weeks of worry.

(I meant, conceived in week 1 of my cycle).
