Don't have any advice as I am only 29 weeks with my first, but wanted to give you a little bit of support and say I hope everything goes well and that baby's just being a bit quiet today.

Here if you want to chat.

got2bequackers · 18/03/2011 10:06

I would add to the try not to worry too much. I had quite long periods when littleun wouldnt move. Then as panic would really set in and i would have coat on to head to the hospital the little terror would shift ~ i have to say she never really was one for kicking.

She is now nearly 2 and she hasnt stopped moving since the day she was born she even wriggles in her sleep.

I hope all is ok. XxxxxxX

SelinaDoula · 18/03/2011 10:06

(((hugs)))
I went to the hospital in tears with my first cause I hadn't felt her move for a couple of days. I was so hysterical by the time I got there I couldn't speak but she was fine.
Hope you are both ok.

Just wanted to offer some support as well and hope everything goes well today.

Have you tried eating and drinking something?

Good luck and try to keep positive (I know easier said than done).

FlipFantasia · 18/03/2011 10:10

This sounds so stressful and I really hope all is well.

I've no advice other than I know how stressful this kind of thing can be. I had a scare at 25 weeks when pregnant with my son - he stopped moving and no amount of caffeine/sugar was helping. I ended up leaving work to head to the maternity day unit at the local hospital...where a scan showed that he as just snoozing away!

I felt a little embarrassed but every midwife I saw said it's definitely better to be safe than sorry. So you're doing the best thing to get this checked out. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your little one is just having a bit of a quiet day Smile.

Honeymoonmummy · 18/03/2011 10:12

I wanted to add my support, hope the appt puts your mind at rest. I went in a few times with DD not moving and she was always ok. All the best x

MrsTittleMouse · 18/03/2011 10:15

I didn't feel my first move for over a day - it was so stressful. I phoned the hospital and asked to go in for monitoring. My baby was fine in the end, and I was really embarrassed that she was moving away and I looked like a neurotic Mum to the midwives.

Keeping everything crossed for you.

Primafacie · 18/03/2011 10:21

I'm sorry, this must be so stressful but chances are the baby is going to be fine. Maybe try drinking coffee/cold diet coke? Or do pelvic floor exercises, or some gentle poking? Fingers crossed for you x

Primafacie · 18/03/2011 10:23

Sorry, should also have said I've had loads of anti-D injections as I had continuous bleeding from 12 to 21 weeks. It is really harmless so it won't have hurt your baby. Good luck with the scan.

saoirse86 · 18/03/2011 10:23

I really hope everything is fine today.

My cousin had a similar thing happen at 27 weeks, she hadn't felt movements and he was measuring at 23 weeks. She did have to have an emcs but he is now 7 1/2 months and healthy and happy, just a bit small. Smile

Whatever happens, remember that the medical staff are so good these days and they will always do what they think is best for both of you, and can do absolute wonders with a tiny baby if it comes to that, which hopefully it won't.

Good luck. Smile

MadMommaMemoo · 18/03/2011 10:26

Will be thinking of you. Fwiw I had a nightmare pregnancy, lots of times where I didn't feel any movements, and she was fine xx

Joannezipan · 18/03/2011 16:39

I had this earlier in the week. I spoke to my midwife about it and she gave me some really good advice. She said sit on the sofa with your feet up and some music on so you relax, then eat something very cold and sugary (I used an ice lolly)and wait and see what happens for an hour. If it is asleep then the cold hitting your tummy makes it move due to the shock of the temp change, if it is sluggish because your blood sugar is low then the sugar gives the baby a boost and it should move within an hour. If it still isn't moving at the end of the hour phone the fetal assessment centre at your hospital and they will tell you what to do next. I hope your scan went okay and it is horrible. Good thoughts coming to you hugs

Hope all went ok x x x

Loubilouu · 18/03/2011 17:10

Thankyou all for the reassurance and advice..
Went to the hopsital and baby is adverage size, however looks small as she is led in an awkward position (Pheww what a relief)
however baby had to be monitored after that for couple of hours, because i havent had any movement within 24hours (well i didnt feel any)...
whilst the the midwife was monortering the baby's heart rate... baby kept kicking :D !! im soo relieved words cant describe...

Thank goodness, so pleased baby is fine! In these situations it's ALWAYS best to get checked. The midwives would rather you were there and nothing be wrong than think 'I don't want to bother anyone' and something IS (that statement is more for anyone else reading this that may be worried in the way you were Smile).

FlipFantasia · 18/03/2011 19:13

Am so glad to hear all is well Grin[relief]. Manda's right - always best to get it checked out Smile

Lucylu5 · 19/03/2011 23:36

So happy that everything is ok:)
You must be so relieved :)
Hope the rest goes perfectly and smoothly :)
Good luck and enjoy your new bundle when she arrives x
