I'm hoping that this is nothing to worry about but as it's my first pregnancy I wanted to check with you ladies. I know that cervical discharge can increase in your second trimester but as well as that I'm finding I have a wet patch every now and then in my knickers, which is bigger and covers any discharge.

It doesn't smell any different to how it's been smelling down there since I got pregnant (sort of semen/wheaty smell). I do find that I need to drink 2.5 - 3 litres of water a day to keep my urine clearish in colour.

What do you reckon - worth calling my midwife? x

I reckon you are drinking way too much water for a start. 3 litres is far too much. I would say that there is nothing to worry about but call midwife just to check Smile

Sorry I don't have any advice - I just wanted to bump this for you as I was about to start a thread with the same question! I'm 24 weeks with DC2. I can't remember whether I got this or not last time!

Thanks lulalullabye. I find if I don't drink that much during the day (it is more likely 2.5 litres rather than 3) my urine is so dark (like man's wee!) and I thought that would be bad for the baby?

Hi
I've had some of this too - I'm 24 weeks and tend to wear a liner most days. I've had this throughout my preg so far and nothing to worry about for me, everything is all fine. I think sometimes the discharge is thinner that's all, and it seems more fluid-like. If you are worried though, certainly give your midwife a call.

Just thought I'd share that I've had a similar experience and everything is absolutely fine!

As for the fluid, I don't think 3litres is too much at all - I'm thirsty all the time and probably drink at least that if not more. You need more fluid than normal during pregnancy because of increased blood flow. By the time your thirsty you are already mildy dehydraded.

Thanks ladies for all your messages. Just spoke to a friend who is 24 weeks and she said the same as you all. Best of luck with your pregnancies x
