Hi
I am 10 weeks with my 4th and since I got a positive on the pregnancy test I have suffered from two scaly patches about the size of 10p pieces on my face...at first I thought it was spots and then a new cleanser, but, after going back to my normal cleansing routine they are still there. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I don't normally suffer from any skin condition apart from extremely dry hands.
Also what type of topical cream could be used, I am currently trying tea tree oil, but there has been no improvement. Is it possible it might improve after 12 weeks?
Thanks in advance.

It could well be eczema, sounds quite like what I've had. Your GP can prescribe a topical ointment for it if E45 cream doesn't clear it up. My midwife recommended E45 in the first instance.

I wouldn't use tea tree oil, it can be very drying which may make things worse. If E45 doesn't work it's worth seeing your GP.

Aveeno cream. It's great. Some gps will prescribe it but some won't as it's more expensive that most solutions.

You can buy it yourself too.

I use E45 cream on my eczema, clears it up pretty fast.

I have doublebase for excema from my GP, really lovely to use and safe in pg. I use it on my hands when they're really dry and it helps really quickly.

I second Aveeno, or failing that a very plain, basic body oil. (The plainer the better - jojoba is good.)

hydrocortisone cream......they say you cant use on yr face but its the only thing that gets rid of mine, has been since a child. you dont need a lot or often any I find it works straight away

I use hydrocortisone too, over the counter, 0.5% or 1% strength. It thins the skin so it clears up very quickly, there are warnings about using it on the face, particularly around the eyes but I think you'd need to be lathering it on to do any damage.

I need a bit on my cheeks every other night to keep the excema away, which I've had since I was a teenager.
