Have ordered one in anticipation of SPD this pregnancy. I'm only 8 wks but I've been feeling it every so often already. Was on crutches for last 6 wks of previous pg, so don't want to be like that this time round with a toddler to look after as well!
Anyway, to get to the point, what I'm wondering is... did you need to take it off to sit down? I was thinking of getting some nice maternity dresses so I could wear it underneath and it not be visible because I imagine it would be difficult to conceal under a skirt or trousers.....but now I'm thinking if you need to take it off to sit down, it wouldn't be so easy to do under a dress! Wearing it over clothes will be fine around the house when nobody sees me, but I don't want to draw attention to myself unnecessarily by wearing it on top of clothing when out and about. So....any advice?? Tia.

Hi. I had one. It is meant to be worn 24hrs a day Shock but my physio let me off wearing it in bed!

Is it one of those with the extra side pulls to tighten it once you've fastened it? Sometimes, when sitting I would loosen those bits slightly but not always.

If you need any advice let me know...

THanks, buttonmoon
24hrs a day? Shock Physio never mentioned that to me. Why would you need to wear it in bed??
Yes, it is the one with the extra side pulls, the "Rolls Royce" of belts, as my physio put it.
Thankfully it's not bothering me as much as it was a week ago. I've been swimming and doing tummy & pelvic exercises & watching my posture so maybe that's helping.

Keep doing all that but make sure you're not overdoing it either.

Maybe I was told that as I was in constant pain and on crutches etc? It did help in that it held me together when I was turning over in bed but I ended up with little pressure sores from it so she said not to wear it at night. Soon after that I was put on sleeping tablets so I didn't move all night anyway so turning over wasn't an issue!

I've kept mine in case this time round is similar!

I assume you're physio is going to show you how to fit it? It's quite important to get it right especially if there's an imbalabce in the pelvis as you could be tightening it in all the wrong directions IYSWIM?

Good point about getting physio to show me exactly how to fit it. Problem is....she hasn't got a free appointment until May! Other colleague whom she works with is off on mat leave herself so my physio has extra workload.....so I'm thinking of going to see an osteopath privately. But so far I'm not doing too bad....start getting sore about lunch time and only some evenings need hot water bottle or bath to ease the pain, but it's not unbearable yet. I wore the belt one day last week just to see how it feels but haven't worn it since as I don;t think the pain is bad enough yet. Also had a UTI this week so would have been a nuisance taking it off every 15mins (or less!) to go to the toilet! Blush
How many wks pg are you now, btw?
