How often should I see the midwife??

I apologise for the silly question but thought I'd ask you all before I call them for fear of looking like a wally Blush

I'm 31 weeks with dc4. High risk pg due to previous lung clots so on Clexane. Also currently on modified bed rest due to massive swelling 'downstairs' which has also made my VBAC impossible Sad.

I saw the midwife at 28 weeks and had a growth scan at 30 weeks with the mw afterwards. I've been booked for another growth scan & consultant appt on 31st March when I'll be 34+ weeks. There was no mention of seeing anyone in between....is 4 weeks wait right? I was under the impression that cons led care meant being seen more often (I'm sure it was fortnightly)?

I know it depends on the area you live in but can't locate the guidelines which advise on regularity of antenatal visits.

If anyone can advise that would be great, thank you!!!

I don't get extra midwife appts because of being consultant led.

I've got immunology problems which mean I've always been consultant led but have also developed GD so I'm seen in that clinic too.

My midwife appts were:

28, 31, 34, 36, 38. I'm being induced at 39+5.

I am high risk and currently on 3rd pregnancy and my notes state 16wks, 28wks,34wks,36wks,38wks,41wks and 42 wks for mw, but my 16 wk and my 36wk will be replaced with consultant appointments so no need to see midwife.

Here it is 31 weeks, 34 weeks, 36 weeks, 38 weeks, 40 weeks.

There is a list in my notes of when to expect appointments, perhaps give them a call to check or could you just make an appointment with the midwife for 32 weeks?

Forgot to say you can make an appointment to see your midwife if you are concerned about anything, those wks are not set in stone.

Thank you all for replying!

[hmmm] perhaps I'm mistaken.

For some reason I seem to remember one of the new mws talking about 2 weekly visits. I also haven't seen my consultant much - I moved here recently & have only seen her once at 24 weeks, next at 34 weeks which is vastly different from my care plan where we lived before. My previous consultant (who did my A/N care, delivered dd3 & has vast knowledge of my history) also provided my care in this pregnancy until we moved. He had specified 4 weekly clinic visits (with 2 weekly appointments after 30 weeks). As I've moved from England to Scotland I wonder if things are done differently here. Confused

I may give them a quick call tomorrow just to check, I just didnt want to assume and look like a demanding patient Smile
