Pampering/spa treatments for mums-to-be

I'm looking for ideas of new treatments to try!

I've had the Elemis Mum-to-Be massage (on a bean bag) which was lovely but v.v.expensive. Luckily someone else bought it for me.

I already go for regular(-ish) pedicures. I'll go for reflexology later in pregnancy (did that in first pregnancy).

Has anyone else tried any other pregnancy pampering/spa treatments that you'd recommend and I can try?

What about pampering products? I've tried Mama Mio, Burt's Bees, Clarins and Decleor oils in the past, and also like the Elemis Milk Bath, but am looking for new ideas. I love trying new products.

I loved being pampered when I was pregnant with DD a few years ago and now I'm pregnant again and (all being well) this will be my last pregnancy, I want to try to make it special and as relaxing as possible (easier said than done with a toddler around...).

Thanks in advance! I hope others pick up some tips from this thread too.

What about a 'float' in a flotation pool or tank? My local (very reputable) spa offer this and after 12 wks it is safe - was wonderful. Also had a head massage..mmmm lovely.

no advice, but my friend would like to treat me to a spa day for my birthday (which is 4 days after edd so we're doing it beforehand), just wondered what treatments to have etc?

Ask the spa - if they are clued up on pg they will know what oils they can use safely and know not to put the bed flat..or lie you on your tummy! My favourites apart from the floating and the head massage are foot massages (so good in pg) nails and facials - stay out of the saunas, jacuzzis and steam rooms though. So jealous, what a fab birthday treat

MrsS lucky you! Definitely get your feet massaged and a pedicure if it's close to your due date - so nice to have lovely toenails during labour.

Thanks for the floatation idea jasmine, love the idea of some relaxation time.

MMmmm, head massage.

Word of warning if you are planning on your first spa treatment in pregnancy. I had mine this weekend and hated it :( I am a real massage/facial/anything fan but I just could not stand being touched! I was really disappointed in myself as had been really looking forward to it. I am quite claustrophobic in my own skin at the moment so should have realised it was a bad idea :(

clarins at clarins proper skin spas... £43 well spent!
