Been awakesince 3:30a.m. My right arm feels like I've been sleeping on it, like it has no blood in it. My arm is heavy and my fingers kind of itchy. Feel like I want to rip my arm off. Been moving about for a while, not leant on it for an hour and a half, taken some paracetamol, still feels really wierd. Pinky finger feels wierdest.

Any ideas?

Just a suggestion, but look up Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
I suffered from it in my 2nd pregnancy and my arm would just go dead, mostly at night but then it started happening during the day. It went away after my DD was born but returned during my 3rd pregnancy. It unfortunately didn't go away after DS was born, in fact got a lot worse and I ended up having to have steroid injections ( which were quite painful)
Hope you get it sorted and enjoy your last few weeks of pregnancy.

Thanks, have looked it up and it sounds most likely. The wierd feeling is infuriating isn't it? Did you find any way to relieve it while you were pg?
I'm due on Friday so hopefully don't have to put up with it for too long.

Yes it was infuriating as I remember. I think I used to adjust the position that my arm was in, but sometimes it would go completely dead when I was pushing the pushchair or more worryingly when I was driving the car.
I would mention it to your midwife or Dr, just to be on the safe side in case it is something else.
Congratulations for when your baby is born.

I have carpal tunnel syndrome (1st pregnancy) and it's the bane of my life. By far my worst pregnancy symptom. There's very little that can be done, though. I've seen a physio twice and I basically just have to wait to not be pregnant any more. And, as MrsDanverclone says, it might not even go away then if I'm unlucky!

The physio did give me wrist splints to wear at night, though, which help a little bit, so maybe ask the midwife/your GP for a referral (or phone up and self-refer if you want to get things moving quicker). I saw one who specialises in women's health physio so knows all about various pregnancy complications.

She also told me to do the obvious things like moving my arms, shaking my hands. Massaging downwards from fingers towards elbows helps a little bit as it helps get the retained fluid out of your hands. I also like to go and run my hands under ice cold water and then hot water (as hot as I can stand) alternately, which seems to get the circulation going a bit. But these are tinkering round the edges, it's basically just a bit miserable, sorry Sad

Carpal Tunnel. Bloody annoying. Mine got steadily worse throughout. Hope not same for you. Seemed to come and go with no rhyme or reason - at some times of day could not even hold a coffee cup. I so sympathise and it's such a strange feeling - sometimes feels like it's so insanely numb that you start thinking how can this POSSIBLY be normal??

Mine has faded slowly post-birth; hardly ever get it now and daughter 10 mo.

Hope works out. Babies are very nice when they come.

Keep an eye on it and if it swells, turns red or does anything else strange, get it checked out.
