Still bleeding after early scan

Hi All,
New to this so bear with me...
Started having brown bleeding which then turned red with jelly-like blobs at 8 wks, went for early scan last Thurs, saw heartbeat and told everything looked healthy and normal - no signs of bleeding on scan and ovaries healthy, etc. Since then, bleeding more (like a period), it's red, had some blobby bits, then now just bright red liquid. Also now getting period pain like cramps, whereas before it was just aching.
Keep getting told it can be normal, but increase in symptoms can be worrying - EPU have said to wait at least a week until another scan, so am counting down til Thursday. However, also told too many early scans can be harmful on the baby. Anyone else have several early scans? Bleeding seems to have eased slightly today despite being at work all day (am a teacher, so on feet constantly). But then it always seems to be heavier in the evening. Btw, scan showed me to actually be 7weeks, and I've worked out that this is when I should be due on...is that common?
Thanks in advance for any comments.

I didn't want this to go unanswered, but I am sure there are more knowledgable ladies out there who will be along soon.

First I am so sorry you are going through this. I had bleeding and cramps early on, and was terrified, but the MW said she sees it a lot and can just be implantation bleeding. The fact that you have seen a heartbeat should reduce your chance of MC, but I know that is little comfort while you are waiting. I have heard that bleeding when period is due can happen, but it didn't happen to me, sorry

I hope the next few days go quickly and you have a good reassuring scan soon x

Hi
Just answering your comment on too many scans being harmful to baby - Prof Lesley Regan at St Marys in Paddington has actually noticed that frequent scanning seems to lead to more successful pg, not just because it picks up problems in good time but for some other unknown reason. I think I read somewhere that she is doing or wants to do a formal study on this. I had scans every 2 weeks from 6 wks to 12 and now very 4 wks so my LO is going to be born a screen star!
Sorry to hear about your bleeding, its always terrifying - hope it all goes well on Thurs
x

Thank you for your replies - I realise there's a lot of similar threads, which in itself is reassuring to see that there can be positive outcomes. Feel a bit less emotional today - maybe because I know I've got a bit of certainty coming in two days. I was kept awake last night as the cramps were so uncomfortable, but the bleeding always seems to reduce in the day. Maybe it's more in the evening because it's when I finally relax and lie down??! I think I'm adjusting to the fact no one knows what might happen, and I'm preparing myself for the worst, but still have some hope in here somewhere!
Thanks jasmine51 for the comment about scans - good to know and would be an interesting study!
Fingers crossed for Thursday - and big thank yous again for your comments - really appreciated!
