title says it all - what do you recommend, at 36 weeks I am snugly in bravissimo's Sophie bra by panache in a 34G, and need to get some bras for afterwards (thought these would do but think i need something a little bigger) - so can a nyone personally recommend any brands / styles for 36g-gg
I tried on about 6 bra styles in mothercare & M&S yesterday to no avail (in M&S a 38 would barely go round my back which is measuring 34 still, but 36 prob will be more comfy!)
The only reason i havent just bought more panache ones is a) £28 each had hoped to get away with spending less, (b)theyre really pretty but wonder if with enlarged / flamed / gorged boobs they might be a bit fiddly & uncomfortable!
Really apprec iate suggestions
thanks

Spend the money - your boobs will love you for it! I had M&S ones and don't think they fitted at all well with hindsight - they tend to do their fittings totally differently to Bravissimo who I think are a lot better.

If you get a bigger back size just to get your boobs to fit in then all they'll do is ride up at the back and not give you the support you need at the front - but you'll know that if you're a Bravissimo customer.

It's really difficult to guess how much bigger your boobs will get when your milk comes in. Do you have a Bravissimo nearby that you can get to easily? If not, order a range of sizes (same back as you are now) and in a bigger cup that you could possibly imagine Grin then try them on about a week after you deliver to get the sizing right.

A bit rambling but hope that helps a little.

Although they're pricey, Hotmilk are really comfy and a good fit. This season's styles go up to a H cup.

Freya's Dotty is a rigid fabric so it gives you a slightly more 50's shape- good if you don't want your boobs in your armpits.

Be prepared to go up at least 1 or 2 cup sizes initially- don't buy without getting fitted.

Cheap bras are a false economy IMO, you will be wearing your boobs every day for the rest of your life so they deserve to be looked after!

Have a look on bras for mum, they have some decent ones, not to expensive.

moregranny · 27/02/2011 20:05

Bras for mums even !

Grumpla · 27/02/2011 20:09

Freya do a really excellent non-wired one, I think figleaves sells them. They are polka dot brown satin with cream lace, really pretty on. And very comfotable! I was 34J at one point and found the Freya ones way more comfy than Royce etc.

Have spent a fortune and the only one I would now buy is Elle Macpherson ones. Selfridges in manchester the best for mersuring x

Rannaldini · 27/02/2011 20:14

anita underwired is best for mahoosive
most don't go up far enough in cup sizes

it really is an excellent bra

choceyes · 27/02/2011 20:17

Another vote for Anita underwired. Much much better than the other types. I have 32I boobs!

galwaygal · 27/02/2011 20:31

I loved the NCT comfort bra, it was useful to be able to order loads of different sizes and try them at home and return the sizes that did not work. These were the most comfortable for me, and did not cut under the arms like many of the other bra's like the anita, royce or freya ones did on me. I went from 32G to 36L initially and then settled to a 34K while breastfeeding. I found that the NCT online was easier and cheaper to deal with rather than getting badly fitted in the shops!

oggybags · 27/02/2011 20:39

thanks ladies, millions of bras ordered, fingers crossed for some sucess!!

I'm another advocate of Bravissimo!

My boobs haven't altered size at all in pregnancy - I'm a 32H!! Normally! Without hormones or milk!!!

The 32 started getting a bit tight so I went and got some nursing bras last week - I bought Panache 36H instead, there's also extra 'adjustables' so I can loosen the back and shoulders as needed. They're as comfortable/flattering as I'm going to get at this point Sad but we are where we are!

Good luck - don't go to M&S, I don't know many people who come out of that place with a correctly fitting bra - the tape measure needs burning!!!

M&S don't even do my size in the shop, only online!

oldieneedsreminding · 28/02/2011 00:33

Do not scrimp on nursing bras. save money on other non essentials.
at 36 weeks is probably when your back will be at its biggest. once the baby engages, it should go down, and once baby is delivered, more so, but of course, then theactual norkage will increase in size.

stay clear of mothercare and marks . go to bravissimo, or figleaves online. or even debenhams, but not mothercare. definitly not mothercare. my sister loved elle mcpherson nursing bras.

greenzebra · 28/02/2011 08:50

I was wondering the same thing, I am a 34 gg when not preggers so at the mo in a 36 hh. I was going to go for the bravissimo package and probably get the Royce one they show on their website. I thought it looked pretty and not boring like some nursing bra's.

FannyFifer · 28/02/2011 09:13

I have never found a nursing bra that makes my huge boobs look normal.

I now wear normal well fitting underwired ones and have altered them using the clips etc from all the crap nursing bras I have bought over the years.

FindingStuffToChuckOut · 28/02/2011 11:02

BRAVADO BRAVADO BRAVADO! Can't believe no one else has mentioned them. They rock. They support your boobs throughout the entire range of size variations you may experience during the day/week when feeding & they look great. They now have a 'silk' version which I will be treating myself to for this baby. I'm at least an E cup BTW - probably bigger when feeding - I recall my boobs dwarfing DD's head in the early weeks :)

babybumpx · 28/02/2011 11:07

I know exactly how you feel....I was a size 28 H now I am a 34 J.....cannot find anything anywhere! Really worried about the effects afterwards, I am only 3 months pregnant.

marriednotdead · 28/02/2011 11:43

babybumpx, Royce Charlotte goes up to a K cup now Smile

Bravado is fab but their sizing is not 'true' as they dual and skip doubles- J/K is nearer G/GG Hmm
Bodysilk is ok up to about a FF cup max.

babybumpx · 28/02/2011 11:49

I'll look it up now!! I had Breast Implants last year....oh and do I regret it now! :)

Zipitydoda · 28/02/2011 22:47

Also havE a look at elomi underwired feeding bra. The catch is a bit fiddly but it provides great support even when open for feeding.

PaigeTurner · 01/03/2011 06:53

yy Elomi from figleaves, bit of a superstructure in a G cup but no monoboob and looks great under clothes. All my non wired ones make my boobs ache.

camdancer · 01/03/2011 08:29

Another vote for the Anita from Bravissimo. My nursing bras are 32H. They aren't cheap but they are comfy and look good.

The one useful piece of advice my Granny gave me is to spend lots of money on your underwear, then you can buy cheap clothes and they look great. Buy cheap underwear and everything looks rubbish.

Do NOT go to Mothercare or M&S for nursing bras - They are dreadful!

I've always liked Freya for my nursing bras (Don't think they come up too high, either, strawberries). I'm a 38G.

marriednotdead · 01/03/2011 14:14

Strawberries- this Bravado one would probably just about do the trick. The sizing is stupid different; you'll need a 36H/I Shock but don't let that bother you Smile
