Hi there, is this your first?

Mine didn't change in my first pg, until the moment dd1 was born and then they swoll to gigantic proportions and leaked everywhere!

In my subsequent pg's they never get particularly big, but i do have slight leaking occasionally (i doubt before 35 wks thought) Fortunately they don't leak too much once babes are born adn i'm breastfeeding nowhere near like they did with the first.

This is my 2nd, cant remember what happened with my first.

As long as its normal...

This is my first and I've had small white bits in my right nipple occasionally since about 20 weeks but not major liquid leakage. I'm currently 36+6 and in the last 3 or 4 weeks have noticed a change in leakage. Nothing not manageable - but I occasionally wake to find a dried up circle around one of my nipples where some leakage has obviously occurred during the night. My bras also tend to have little yellowy marks inside them when I take them off at the end of the day showing that they have leaked a tiny bit during the day, for that reason I'm only wearing my thicker more supportive bra's these days as I worry a thin t-shirt bra might pass the mark through to my t-shirt which would be embarrassing.

As for change in boobs - my boobs aren't any bigger than they were pre-pregnancy, actually due to my healthier diet I'm sure they're actually smaller. I assumed this was normal as a few ladies on the March antenatal thread mentioned it a while back.

I'm 35 weeks with first, nothing doing here, thank goodness! I'm expecting that at the very end. If you added leaky nipples to swollen feet and ankles, night time toilet trips, constant nosebleeds, general late preg tiredness and an occasionally crunchy back, oh and some SPD pain on my right groin then I think I would loose it and turn into a mad lady!

warthog · 26/02/2011 03:32

leaks i have not experienced in any pregnancy.

severe reflux causing asthma and sore throats long into the night is fairly standard with me. as you can see 3.30 and still no sleep!

NotSoPukeyMummy · 26/02/2011 08:35

I didn't have any leaks in first pregnancy, too early with DC2 to tell.

allatsea1 · 26/02/2011 09:12

32 weeks - and just twice. Might have missed it as was just a drop on both occasions. Surreal!!

midori1999 · 26/02/2011 10:10

This is my fifth (aside from early losses) pregnancy and I have never once had leaky boobs. They don't change that much until until my milk comes in properly, about 3-5 days after the birth either.

Annpan88 · 26/02/2011 11:05

everyones different. I leaked a little at 20 weeks, and since about 25 weeks its been constant, fine with pads, but I couldn't not wear them at any point arrrgghh

theborrower · 26/02/2011 11:33

I never leaked at all, and still never have (and DD is nearly 7 months). Not everyone feels their milk come in either, so don't stress clarebear1

From about 16 weeks the crust formed....yummy I kno!!! And yesterday I actually saw it happening!! Not enough to show thru clothes but Would love to know what sets it off...I have seen on some threads that there can be triggers!!!

JimmyChoo17 · 26/02/2011 11:51

Ps I'm 20 weeks today

Eglu · 26/02/2011 11:54

With DS1 mine never leaked. With DS2 they did at about 28 weeks.

expectingno3 · 26/02/2011 12:24

I'm 33 weeks with, as the name suggests, no. 3. Sometimes when the baby squirms about, I have the 'let down' feeling, and they leak a lot. This has been happening for a few weeks now.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 26/02/2011 12:29

Don't worry clarebear mine never leaked in either pregnancy and I never got the huge breasts after either but I successfully bf both. Every woman is different and every baby is different.

If you are thinking of bfing did you know that you can go to bfing support groups before the baby arrives for a cuppa and a chat? Try Lll, NCT, ABM Baby Cafe and your local Children's Centre.

fairybubbles · 26/02/2011 12:49

Don't remember any leaking during 1st pregnancy. This time from about 30 weeks.now reached 37 weeks and always leak overnight as have patches on nightclothes.

NickiAndAlex · 26/02/2011 13:45

Mine didn't leak at all in my first pregnancy and haven't so far in my second (37 weeks now). They didn't change in size or shape either until I started breastfeeding, and even then not a great deal (depending on how full I was).

I didn't have any problem breastfeeding (in fact I BF until 4 months pregnant again), so leakage or lack of it in pregnancy is definitely not an indication of whether you can BF or not.

PermaShattered · 27/02/2011 13:09

I'm 37 weeks pregnant with my 4th - never EVER had ANY leaks from my boobs while pregnant. But have always have gone onto breastfeed all my babies until up to 2.5 yrs! SO, in short, not everyone leaks during preg! Or I'm an alien....

clarebear1 · 27/02/2011 14:00

Update... nipples were wet this morning. They mustve heard us talking about them!

I NEVER leaked, even when breastfeeding. Bought a load of breast pads and never uses one. Now 30 weeks and no sign again despite huge growth of boobs

cowboylover · 27/02/2011 17:09

I am the same as 1Catherine1, been having some from 25 weeks and my midwife said it is different for everyone when it starts and sometimes wont be until after the birth so like all the rest of the pregnancy wierd things EVERYthing is normal Smile

PipPipPip · 27/02/2011 17:59

An NCT breastfeeding councillor said that some people's boobs leak, some people's don't - but it doesn't make a difference to how much milk they'll produce and/or how they'll go with breastfeeding.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/02/2011 21:32

Pip sounds like very she was giving very good information there judging by my personal experience.
