hi
i am really wondering if anyone give a normal birth after just 2 years from c-section, as when i had my first child the doctor told me to stay at less 2 years if i am planning for normal birth next time, now my baby just 1 year 7 months and find myself pregnant again, i will give birth in july, my baby will be 2years 3 months, is this will be after 2years or not, does anyone give a normal birth in this short of time after c-section?
really need some advices?

Hi I also had a successful vbac 23 months after my ecs so it's absolutely possible. Smile

Hi my DH's cousin had a vaginal delivery 18months after a c-section, no problems for her. :)

I know of a few people. I think doctors have to give you a figure, but it all depends on your fitness, the size and position of your baby, and probably lots of other factors..

Hi there, I had a VBAC too with 2 dc after 2 years 3 months. I was really well looked after during the labour and it all went well. Still flipping hurt though!

BirdyArms · 24/02/2011 16:07

I had a successful VBAC after after 23 months too. I was very determined that I didn't want another caesarian and did lots of research on how to improve my chances of avoiding one - if you search the mumsnet archives there are some threads that will point you to some more reading. I also had a doula, the lovely Marslady who I found via mumsnet, and I think she really helped. Good luck!

did you study doula birdyarms, or just read about it, i realy dont have a time to go to any cours now, i feel very tired and need more rest specialy with my very active boy.

sorry. can you explain please, as i am thinking about it.

atiat I think birdy means that she paid for a doula (a childbirth attendant) to be with her when she gave birth - Marslady, who posts on MN.

It depends a lot on why you had a section previously etc.

My DS2 was an attempted vbac after just 19m. My DS1 was a failure to progress. DS2 took 4 hours to get from 3-10cm, but was an emcs as he was over 10lb, with a head on the 98th centile and got stuck. Completely different reasons - if he'd been a similar size to DS1 he would have most likely been a successful vbac.

BTW, not once did I have mentioned during my pregnancy (and I fell pregnant when DS1 was just 10m) that a vbac was out the question. In fact it was positively encouraged.
