I would assume so, only undercooked eggs are off.

As a rule things with eggs in means pasturised eggs. That includes shop-bought mayonaise, jaffa cakes, ice cream and all the other stuff that makes pregnancy bearable! The major food companies (eg McVities, Sainsbury, Heinz) do not want you to sue them, so they don't take that kind of chance.

The stuff you have to worry about is the stuff made with raw eggs. Pretty much the only way you're going to get raw eggs in your diet is if you make something yourself with them in or you eat and Grandma's without mentioning you don't eat raw eggs. Old ladies are proper toerags for putting raw egg in the mashed potato and other weird places. In thier day raw eggs were thought to be good for expectant Mums.

Recipies you might make at home and expect to see raw eggs in could include posh ice cream, soft boilled egg, home made mayonnaise, or licking the spoon when you make biccies or cakes.

A lot of people feel that the risk of salmonella is so much lower than it was in the early 90's when everyone panicked about eggs that it's really hardly the number one toxin you could accidentally injest. But that's an individual decision, it may not be your decision.

If your egg has a 'Lion' stamp on it, the hens have been vaccinated against salmonella.

All eggs in UK supermarkets have this stamp, so should be fine to eat even if undercooked.

It is only imported eggs (possibly sold in little corner stores) or eggs from small local farms that may not have this stamp.

So EVEN IF granny makes you mashed potato with raw egg, if she bought the eggs from Sainsbury's you'll be fine.
