Quickie wedding or wait until after the baby?

My Fiancee and I were planning to get married in October/ November this year. After coming off the pill in October (my sister was having trouble conceiving and we were told it could take up to a year to get the pill out of my system) I am now 7+3 and DF and I cannot decide what to do.

the facts:
I already have a beautiful dress (size 12 and fitted)
We both want to get married in a church
We cannot get married over the summer (busy season for our business)

Do we opt for a small wedding with only family? Do I sell the dress? Do I wait until the baby is born and try and slim into it? How much of a difference does it make being Mrs XXX when you are having the baby?
I can't seem to make my mind up as have pg hormones raging...Help!

Wow thank you everyone Grin

We've decided to meet the vicar and see when he can fit us in - I think if he can in May then we might squeeze me into the dress if we find a nice dressmaker with a magic needle but if not then I'll have to sell it and find another one (more dress shopping Smile)

Reading through all your posts has really helped and the one thing I want at our wedding is for the day to be about the two of us.

Thank you again - going to google maternity wedding dresses now! xx

oh good decision Littlepebble! I think your reason is a very good one :-)
It would honestly be a right old faff with baby in tow, and tbh once baby comes you will be so excited about the baby that a wedding might not seem so important. This way you get to concentrate on one thing at a time and enjoy both independently.

congratulations!

I agree, good decision!
If you can't find a dressmaker easily, try asking at your local dry-cleaners re. seamstress, they often have a contact for one because of clothes needing repair or re-fitting.

Also, depending on where you bought the dress from, you might be able to return it and get a size bigger (unless it was custom made of course) - always worth a phone call!

Good luck with getting your date in May :)
