Despite my best efforts my toddler ended up with dog poo all over his shoes this morning while we were out and about.

Anyway obviously had to clean it off but am 19 weeks and am now quietly stressing about whether I have accidentally exposed myself/ baby to something horrendous. I cleaned him up as best I could and used antibac hand stuff at the time but thinking about it I later took his shoes off barehanded so potentially I might have been exposed again as there might have been something left on his shoe.

How dangerous is dog poo?

I am fed up with constantly dodging dog poo. Angry

TIA

I'm not totally sure but I don't think there's any major risks like there is with cat poo. My DD got dog poo on her shoes the other day and I cleaned it up and washed my hands thoroughly. I'm sure that's fine!

I think its cat poo that you really need to worry about. I'm sure you'll be fine if you had antibacterial stuff on your hands that will have helped.

By the way I feel your pain with the dog poo. I am totally sick of the dog poo problem in our area. There really is a culture of just not bothering to pick it up

My toddler is well versed in dodging "POOO!!

Thanks v. much!

I don't normally let ds go on the grass at the moment because with all the rotting leaves and mud it's hard to spot but he wanted to look at the crocuses. And why shouldn't he? Bah!!!

Dog is as bad as cat unfortunately, but as long as you don't plan on putting your hands near your eyes or mouth you should be fine lol.

We have masses round here, where people think that walking it around the path on the outisde of the school field (they had to fence it all off as people were using the fields then the kids were doing sport on it) seem to think they can ignore the dog bin, and leave it for everyone to walk in. Really irritating! They wouldn't like it if we walked along the path leaving trails of human poo for them to step in, so why is it any different? :(

As long as you didnt get any into your eyes and washed your hands everything should be fine.

as long as you washed yr hands proper, its fine.

as a dog owner, its horrible seeing poo all over streets/parks. It takes no effort at all to keep nappy sacks with you (the only part of pregnancy I am ready for ha ha ha)

I really feel for you - I have a dog (which I clean up after) but other dog's poo at the park makes me urgfgghhhhh

We have signs up at the park and round where we live saying

The Dog Poo Fairy doesnt exist!

My dog had a terrible gastrointestinal problem when I was ~33 weeks and I ended up spending a lot of time down on all fours scrubbing the carpet. :(

The baby is fine. I was carefully not to eat the poo.
