im 37 weeks pregnant and cant sleep to save my life. im so uncomfortable all the time and only manage an average of about 3 hrs of sleep every night, sometimes less. can anyone advise me of something to try? ive already a warm bath, camomile tea, massage, reading, watching a boring film and relaxation. im so exhausted, someone please help!

You can try this if you've got the money & space: the Belly Bed - it looks fabbo!

It's probably not the most practical suggestion at this time, sorry. It is so common & I don't think there is any magic answer. I was refused sleeping tablets bymy GP for the same thing. Just try to think positively as it is preparing you for the newborn. When baby arrives you will wonder what you were complaining about!

Are you comfy when you're in bed? I've built a pillow mountain behind my head, have pillows wedged between and under my legs and generally take up about 3/4 of our bed. My DH asked if I could try sleeping with less pillows so there was more room for him, I lasted about 3 hours before demanding them all back!

Other than that, what you're suggesting re a warm bath and drink and bed time around the same time are good ideas. I agree with elvis though, at 37 weeks I think its very common and no one really has an answer otherwise they'd have made a fortune out of it by now.

Do you know what? I have just the same problem it's my third babe and worse than with the other two. I'm 34 weeks now and struggling with tiredness from it. Rib and back pain and sometimes just kind of wired like the baby's up and wants to play! I think that it's just one to be philosophical about. This too will pass. I don't know if it's your first baby but it might amuse you to know that I actually remember being LESS tired when I'd had the baby last time!

Best wishes,

Annacat
