Need to know if anyone else has experienced this. Been in 'pre-labour' state since Sunday night. Very stop start. Today (Thurs) been really bad with contractions but not regular or painful enough to be in established labour. MW came out but couldn't examine or sweep the cervix as it has sort of gone round the back, behind the babies head. She said the baby is trying to get into right position but can't be ready for birth until cervix moved down, which can happen in established labour. It didn't happen last time with DS and MW had to twist it back down in middle of contraction which was very painful (only bit of labour I had GandA for).

I haven't heard of this happening to anyone else, would love to know if there's anyone out there, who couldn't have a sweep for this reason. And did cervix move down on own in the end, or did you have to have it twisted down like mine?

it happens quite often and most of the time will just sort itself out without needng to be pulled round. Particularly if youve laboured before, your body will know what to do xx

Mine went right back and mw couldn't get to it during my sweep, was over by 2 days. But in labour 2 days later the cervix opened forward slowly. Your body will sort itself out I wouldn't worry. Having sex is one of the best things I think you can do for the hormone sperm has in it, that got me going a few hours later. Make sure you keep the sperm in as long as you feel comfortable. Good luck x x x
