Can anyone help? I'm 35+4 and have had mild heartburn since about 8pm last night. Have tried usual things milk, vanilla ice cream, rennies, gaviscon and peppermint tea but still no better. Anyone got other ideas? Am considering calling CMWs as I'm aware this can be a sign of PE - BP is being monitored as had PE with DS (2.11).
TIA

Sorry, not something I can really advise on.

I just wanted to say

a) poor you, heartburn is really uncomfortable

b) without wishing to state the obvious, call the midwife Smile. My dumb pregnant brain doesn't know what PE is but if you're being monitored for it and heartburn is a possible symptom then it's a bit of a no-brainer.

Hope you feel better soon.

Definitely call your midwife with your history

if all is ok, Gaviscon was useless with me but have been given peptac, tastes as foul but works and only need to take it once at night, not several hours later :)

My consultant gave me Ranitidine in my last pg due to heartburn that was so bad I would vomit.

8 months ago I was diagnosed with a Hiatus Hernia and now on Omeprazole every day, in & out of pg. I would say that a certain degree of HB is normal but if it is particularly bad do ask for something stronger, or you'll be miserable Sad

Thanks all. Bizarrely it seems to have gone on it's own. Will def call mw if I get it for that long again.
