I am going back to work full time on monday, taking LO to nursery for 4 days (mother taking her for the 5th day). Although I do enjoy my job I will have to tell them I am pregnant again on my first day back (12 weeks tomorrow). Most of all I am concerned my LO will be exhausted. Anyone else in this position or been in this position? Would love to hear your experiences.

Not me but my colleague is and everyone at work has been supportive (although there have been some jokes, it's been good-humoured).

You don't have to tell them for a while yet, I thought, not until you get your MAT B-1.

And congratulations!

My sister went back to work after a year off with DS1 and within about 2 months told them so was having baby no: 2!

Her boss wasn't happy, but not much they can do. I'd wait a few weeks..just to be sure!

I would also wait a bit if I were you too. Why do you have to tell them on your first day back - are there health and safety reasons?

I work in a lab full of hazardous chemicals and though I don't have to tell everyone it is far safer. Told my boss last week and he was great about it (it wasn't planned and I explained this, not that this really ought to matter). I am also showing so much everyone will notice anyway!!

To be honest, I think it can be really good career-wise. I have seen quite a few people return to work after one child and be knocked back by the childcare / illness side of things, by the time people come back after 2 they have usually either changed jobs or roles or hours or bumped up childcare massively and it becomes easier.
