I have no other apt word to describe it, apart from just plain 'wierd'!

Getting wierd white dots floating around my eyes, (I've never had great vision anyway, having to wear thick lenses for my astigmatism) and getting a dull ache on the right just under my now gigatic boob, which just does not go away.

I read visual wierdness is to do with high blood pressure, I haven't checked it since my last midwife appointment, but I've always had great healthy blood pressure.

Any advice or tips? Confused

i would go to GP to be safe. probably nothing but you BP should be checked.

Hmmm, i would go to the doca and get checked out. My blood pressure was always really low but i ended up with pre-eclampsia which started with disturbed vision and pain under my ribs.

Doca? Doctor even!

Shock numpty! I'm getting on the phone to my midwife right now! My blood pressure normally quite low too. You always think this sort of stuff will never happen to me, oh how we get proved wrong! Lets see what midwife & doc have to say. Thank you!!

I hope i haven't scared you but as you say,we always think it'll happen to someone else. Fingers crossed!

I would definitely get your BP checked - I had PIH (and PE) with DD and visual disturbance coupled with pain just below the ribs was a warning sign for me. I would take a urine sample with you too because, if your BP is high, they will probably want to test for it for proteinuria. Another symptom to look out for is oedema (swelling) - this is common in pregnancy, but is more of a worry if you are getting swelling of the hands/ face.

Try not to worry, but I would definitely get checked out, just to be on the safe side. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thank you Bunnyjo! Still haven't managed to get through to anyone, why is it always a nightmare! I noticed over the weekend that my face is fuller, but I put it down to gaining some weight. But I was a bit shocked at the sudden-ness of it, I don't remember my face being that fat a week ago!

Hope you've managed to get through to the midwife and I have everything crossed that all is OK and you're back home having a well earned rest!

Mamamona Ive just seen your OP

hope you got through to the GP earlier? Facial swelling is also a sign of pre-eclampsia, as is the visual disturbances so you need to get this checked out urgently.

If you have not spoken to the GP or MW yet I suggest you call the GP out of hours service.
