Bednest versus Moses Basket

Does anyone have any experience of the Bed Nest?

It seems like a great idea to help the baby settle at night and I love the idea of being so close and accessible. However looking at the size of it, it seems to be similar to a Moses basket (which we can borrow) so I am not sure how long the baby would be in it and therefore if it is worth the £200 price tag.

Thanks!

I have no experience of these at all but, the fact that the price of these things is so high when they aren't in them for very long makes me, on principle, decide against them. I was actually quite shocked to discover just how much they are. I'm sure there are others who will disagree with me and think they are worth it but it'll be a Moses basket for me all the way.

I love the idea of having the baby so close at night. We were going to have a Cosatto Close To Me Bedside Cot, but are now going even cheaper and just having an Ikea cot with one side taken off attached to the bed. Same concept as the Bednest, but a smidgen of DIY involved.

Hi MrsMogwai - looking forward to hearing how the DIY goes....don't forget to tell us please!

Bubandbump: I'm having the same conversation with myself! Love the idea of the Bed Nest convenience & closeness over slight need to get at least partly out of bed to see to LO in a moses basket, but wrestling with parting with over £200 on it. We wouldn't have space for a full size cot right next to the bed.

We got the car seat with tesco clubcard vouchers, my mum & dad are buying a pushchair and we're borrowing the cot, so most of the big ticket items are already paid for/free. That said, don't see many bednests 2nd hand on ebay so wonder if resales are pretty good? I suppose over 18 years that £200 is worth, what, £400 in the university fund?

Anyone else got any input?

Was v tempted by one but too expensive. Would rather put that cash into a good pram. Went with moses basket instead. Here is a cheaper option for 160.
