Ex Display Pram/Travel System?

Would you buy one?

The fabric we like is being discontinued and the shop happened to have the display model for sale in the same fabric, including the car seat and they also had the changing bag and footmuff, neither of which is any longer available from the manufacturers web site.

I don't know what puts me off, it obviously hasn't been 'used' as such. The pram matress wasn't still in it's plastic packaging, but obviously we could buy a new one. I feel like I'd need to wash all the covers before using it though and wonder if it wouldn't look so 'new' then? Also, I'm worried about storing it as baby isn't due until early July.

We would save quite a bit of money, I'm just not sure it's worth it?

I'd say go for it! Plenty of people chose to/have buy second hand and this isn't second hand as such. Save your money where you can (especially since it's a design you love!) babies are expensive.

Although, i would replace the mattress due to dust and carseat, consider it may have been bashed around by customers 'trying the goods', is there any way you could buy without it?

Happy shopping!

Thanks. I don't mind spending the money, when I had my older DC we couldn't really afford it, so it's nice to be able to. I feel the need to be sensible, tbh, and there's no point in needlessly spending.

If we didn't buy the carseat we wouldn't actually save any money, as the car seat alone is £150.

Maybe it's not such a good idea then. Confused

I personally wouldn't do it because display ones aren't just used, they're abused! Only because people mess with them trying to get them up and down etc when they don't know how to do it.

Also you don't get the warranty/guarantee normally.

But if you don't mind that and it's the one you want just do it!

(That was no help was it Hmm )

We were let down by the company we ordered from and so, a week before due date, threw ourselves on the mercy of a small baby shop in south London and bought their display pram (was a 12-week wait on our chosen model otherwise).

It was as-new, all the bits were in plastic wrappers, we didn't have any problems.

If you are in London, you could get it cleaned by BuggyPitStop.co.uk?

I got an ex-display pram via ebay. It came in the original boxes and seems absolutely fine. We got everything we would have got if we had bought it new but at a significant discount. There wasn't a car seat as part of it though so I didn't have to consider that aspect. Having said that, I just read that one of your worries is that the pram mattress isn't in its plastic packaging. Nor was ours but it hadn't occurred to me until now that it should have been as I have never bought a pram before. I would have said go for it, but obviously I don't know what we have missed out on by not buying a brand new one so you should probably ignore my opinion!

We bought an ex-display from kiddiecare. IT came with 6m guarantee from the shop (to start on my due date) plus we still get the 12m Brittax guarantee. Fingers crossed we will be using it today as waiting to see if we are let home!
