Not interested in those who didnt, who did and did it work?

Seen loads about it on here recently, i now own a bottle, but am still weighing up the odds.

No arguments over rights and wrongs PLEASE.

pmsl In the middle of labour you'll be screaming "WHY THE F--- DID I WANT TO HAVE THIS BABY!"

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 13/10/2005 16:55

soupy - yep - you are probably right - but you forgot the important bit "its all YOUR fault" aimed at DH!

Aw, sweet, I'm not pissed off with you! I know you're eager, and goodness knows I'm uncomfy enough at not quite 27 weeks! I just don't want you to be too stressed and disappointed if this baby doesn't show up sooner rather than later

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 13/10/2005 16:56

i wont be disappointed - i was adament it would have been here by now so now its a case of as and when!

I took it - at least five teaspoons - with orange juice. My hind waters had broken 36 hours before and I was desperate to avoid hospital induction. Took it at about 7 and went into labour at two in the morning. Also had a hot curry (Which like you I hate) so it could have been that. Labour was seven hours but I did a lot more (ahem) clearing of bowels this time. I made it to the loo every time though so not that embarrassing. Not that you really care in labour though - I only care that it did the trick

Well...
I had lots of pains last night, I even woke up with them a few times, but this morning its fizzled out.
Felt a bit sick too as that stuff is so so disgusting.
I guess its made me go a bit too... Anyway, I think its failed me this time. The baby is obviously not ready yet and I can't face trying it again!
Saw my mw today and she said the latest thing is to starve yourself. Not completely but only eat fruit and veg for 24hours. That should make you go which in turn stimulates the cervix as its all in the same area.
I'm not trying that though, I like my food too much!
Does wine really work? I hadn't heard of that one.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 14/10/2005 16:57

jackmummy - starve for 24 hours.... hmmm..... if its from a mw!!

Going to try the castor oil again tonight - DH was supposed to have monday and tuesday off work but they called him this afternoon to say he's got to go in - he isnt happy so is adament this baby is to be born this weekend!

Haven't got time to read everyone else's so forgive me if I repeat anything. I took castor oil to induce my (10 days late) dd. I went into 'false' labour a few hours later - basically awake all night with contractions but no dilation, then it all stopped by breakfast time. Real labour started the next night (another night of no sleep) and dd born the following night. It made my labour very long and exhausting and I would not recommend it. The midwife told me that castor oil irritates the lining of the womb and causes false labour and that she would never recommend it.
