I am 21 weeks with my first :) and have always had mild eczema but now my skin is burning, especially my hands. They are so rough, split, red and painful, I have never had anything like this before. The doc prescribed cream but it is not working - anyone else with this problem or with a handy solution!?

:)

Hello, I'm suffering with the same. The doctor prescribed me some Aqueous cream which seems to be working. Xx

Hi I have the same and it's weird cos I have never previously had skin problems at all. Normal hand cream (even gentle stuff) seems to irritate it. Have mw appointment today so will ask then. Crazy changing weather doesn't help either I'm sure!

My eczema has gone mental in pregnancy after being well controlled for years. I'd recommend going to the doctors with a shopping list for the following:

Mild, non-greasy moisturising emollient- I love Aveeno for my face and bump and Oilatum for my legs and arms

A greasy emollient for the super dry area- I like epiderm but lots of people rave about hydroderm. 50:50 cream is a good cream for an extreme flair up, though you may want to layer this on then use cotton gloves to keep it in place without wrecking everything you touch.

Something for the bath- I love oilatum plus

Something to wash your face and hands with- I recommend aqueous cream (I can't use this on a bit of really flared skin though as it stings to buggery due to the chemicals that they use to bind it's active ingredients. The more greasy a cream is, the less binding products so the less chance of stinging and a reaction to the cream itself).

Once you have all your lotions and potions you can use different ones on different bits of your skin at different times of the day and to varying degrees based on your skin condition each day! Thank goodness for free prescriptions!!

Hope that?s helpful!
