That woman who is having her 3rd child is so in lurrrrve thats so sweet, I might hate my hubbie once i'm in labour! Smile

Also, not sure about having a male midwife Blush , or is he a consultant, either way I wasnt too sure but he seems very sweet.

Wow that was amazing. Just how DS2 was born. I was in that position.

Natzer · 31/01/2011 21:45

Eglu · 31/01/2011 21:45

Oh bugger we have to go back to pain in the arse.

Petalouda · 31/01/2011 21:46

she made that look good!

love 'teary' male midwife!

PermaShattered · 31/01/2011 21:52

Yup, that couple are totally irritating. She in particular, the singing, i couldn't believe it! They should have stuck the gas and air tube in her mouth and stuck it to her with sticky tape.

I'd do anything to have a midwife like him, lovely.

inbetweener · 31/01/2011 21:52

Oh that was lovely. I am IN LOVE with male midwife lol

Dropdeadfred · 31/01/2011 21:53

Jesus - she is soooooo bossy and annoying

Natzer · 31/01/2011 21:53

notbothered LOL thats exactly what me and friend said on FB there's about 56 comments from friends saying how bloody annoying she is!!!

my3sons · 31/01/2011 22:20

I thought the music couple were quite sweet, eccentric but sweet, maybe she was just talking a lot with nerves.

Personally I would prefer a female midwife, I would be uncomfortable having a man rubbing my back etc.

1Catherine1 · 31/01/2011 22:45

The polish woman is just too nice! If my OH missed the birth of our daughter because he'd been out drinking there would be hell to pay!!

PipPipPip · 31/01/2011 23:21

Oh, I quite liked the singing couple! They were a bit sickly but they were optimistic and supportive. I got a bit choked up when she said "in case anything bad happens, I do love you".

Male midwife = utterly adorable.

And I'm surprised the Polish Mum was so restrained when the lad strolled into the room! I thought she'd strangle him.

CoraMackenzie · 31/01/2011 23:33

Tbh, she seemed very typical of 'musical' women I know. All prissy and full of themselves and with the mantra that the whole of family life must revolve around music. Still, they were happy and he was supportive so fair enough and all that.

Poor Amelia, glad she had her mum. I agree her MW was amazing. It wouldn't bother me either (him being a bloke) and I don't think DH would consider it any different to me being seen by a male ob/gyn.

I actually sometimes think those who haven't gone through it themselves whether due to their sex or not having children are often more compassionate and understanding. By far, the worse MW I had was one with 4kids who seemed to have a 'just get on with it, it's not that bad' attitude.

I always fing male Drs/nurses gentler with smear teats too.

nomoreheels · 31/01/2011 23:58

Mrs Sing-a-long had dreadful taste in music. Dirty Dancing, nice. Hmm

rain1014 · 01/02/2011 10:39

I think somebody was hoping to get a singing career out of last nights OBEM!!!!!

I felt so sorry for Amelia, what a A-hole of a boyfriend she has!!!

marzipananimal · 01/02/2011 14:53

some nasty comments here. she's about to go through something painful, scary and stressful, who can blame her for being a bit verbally incontinent? And she can hardly go and get things from the car in her hospital gown with a canula in her hand can she Hmm

Poppet45 · 01/02/2011 15:26

Oh bless her she wasn't that bad, just nervous - starving (remember late pregnancy) and a rather soft soul in the classic CofE mould. I thought she was just a bit of a blousy, mumsy mum and rather lovely. If I wasn't destined to be of the pirannha/ shrew/bitchqueenfromhell I'd have loved to have been like her. And you could tell she absolutely adored her kids. Her rubbing her bump and telling the baby it'd be okay was so lovely.

PipPipPip · 01/02/2011 16:45

I cried when she rubbed her tummy and told her baby everything was going to be okay.

dribbleface · 01/02/2011 18:27

I had a male midwife and he was fab. i did ask DH if he minded though Hmm think i would have told DH to ahem, go away, if he had said yes!

cordiality · 01/02/2011 18:35

Been singing that blinking song all day. Just a fool to believe I have anything she needs.... She's like the wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnndddd.....

Bless her. I become verbally incontinent when I'm nervous or excited as well. I will try much harder to keep a lid on it from now on.
