What to do with my 7 weeks maternity leave?

I am a teacher pregnant with No.2 32+5. I am starting maternity leave after my half term next week! Seems like a good time for my little ones to get to know a new teacher. I am ready for a break but am worried that 7 weeks is going to feel like an eternity. I am looking forward to spending some time with my Dd age 2years and 4 months before the new baby arrives, as a full time working mum I feel I have missed out a little with regards to spending time with her. Any words of wisdom to help pass the time? Special things I should do before the arrival of number 2?

Revamp your SOW, catalogue your resources, go on a couple of INSETS, get a jump on next year's preparation, plan your Christmas crafts... That's so what I would do (not!)

Sort Life Admin stuff out - all those bits and pieces that never get done.
Play on mumsnet and facebook too much.
Book one nice thing a week to look forward to (lunch with friends, hair cut, etc).

I had a long mat leave (due on friday) and have spent most of it reading, sleeping or nesting! Reorganising cupboards is my new favourite hobby Blush.

Ooooh, just enjoy it! A whole 7 weeks of fun with your little girl, and some time to chill beofre chaos descends!!! :) Have fun, and all the best for the birth etc. xx

I'm planning on cooking lots of meals to freeze and to also sort out all my DS's baby photo's and do all his memory books before the next one comes and I get confused which one did what.

I must admit, when I go on mat leave I will be leaving my DS in his childcare for the two days a week so I can have two days to myself (but I am at home with him the other 5 days so don;t feel I have missed out on time with him). For the two of you, lots of soft play centres, swimming etc if you feel up to it, things that will be harder once DC2 comes along - maybe she can help you organise the new baby stuff. If you get some time on your own then god, just sleep!!! Have fun.
