I don't want to sound like a whinging minnie but I'm sure I will.
I am only coming up to 22 weeks pregnant but I'm so uncomfortable at night. I can't remember being so uncomfortable first time round.
I have a wedge but it doesn't seem to be working, I wake up with it thrown on the floor.
Anyone got any ideas to make things more comfortable?

Nope. Wanting the same advice.

I'm 20 weeks and if I roll over I feel like my entire stomach is falling out of my side.

MrsDoolittle · 11/10/2005 11:05

I thought our dates were closer flambat. I was 21 weeks on Sunday!

oh i wish i hand some ideas i will be watching this thread. I am 26 weeks and having terrible problems sleeping, i was up most of last night and in the end slept on my ds's bed i just feel my bed is soooo uncomfortable and also my bump just seems to be getting in my way and very uncomfortable to sleep with, dreading the next how ever many weeks i know it will only get worse !

21 weeks on Friday for me We're different ends of the same month. I'm amazed at how big a gap there can be in just a month (that sounds insane, but it makes sense to me!)

hi,

I had SPD during my last pregnancy and getting some sleep at night was pretty hard. I used a body pillow (the spelt and buckwheat one from Made in Water and it helped, didn't do miracle but helped.

tadpole · 11/10/2005 11:37

go to the tchibo site and search for pillow. their side sleeper pillow is very good. it's only £6.99 also.

Gisou · 11/10/2005 11:43

seen that one before but wanted one that I could use to breastfeed my baby too and I'm more spelt and natural stuff than polypropylene...but that is personal...

Hmm, maybe not much help, but if you can sleep on your side put a pillow between your knees as well as whatever you use to support bump. This way your hips aren't 'sloping' and can prevent a bit of back discomfort. On the down side it does mean there's probably just one more pillow to pick up from the floor several times a night.

MrsDoolittle · 11/10/2005 13:22

I think it's the tummy falling sideways bit that makes it really uncomfortable

hi sweet. i remember that uncomfortable feeling. i agree with the pillow between the knees. or what my little sis had was a body pillow. which was awesome. you can cuddle up against it and get as comfy as possible.

flamebat · 11/10/2005 13:26

The pillows don't do me much good either... I'm a wriggler, and although I start off with a nicely supported bump, I roll over, all my muscles scream at me, and my pillow is either on the floor or been nicked by DH.

ThomBat · 11/10/2005 13:28

no advice, just adding that I'm the same and wake up shattered every morning!

gravity · 11/10/2005 13:31

tie the body pillow to dh

iris66 · 12/10/2005 11:52

Would one of those "belly vests" help? Might give a bit of sideways support if you roll over alot.
I used a V pillow (head on pointy bit and sides front & back to stop me rolling over) with a flattish pillow under bump and a small cushion between my knees. you end up feeling a bit swamped (and take up rather a lot of room!!) but it helped my backache a lot.

flamebat · 12/10/2005 11:54

HUGE pain when I rolled over last night (even woke DH with my yell), and I lay there thinking... I wonder if MrsD is in pain right now too!
