nursing sleep bras any good for the big bosom?

Am just placing an online order for a couple of bits from mothercare and am debating whther to get a couple of nursing sleep bras - are they any good if you have a massive chest? (last measurement I was about a 40G). I'm being fitted for 'proper' nursing bras next week but throught these might be good for night time.

Shall I add to my online basket or not?!

I really like the nursing sleep bras - I still have some in my drawer that are 7yrs old Grin and I wore them for a long time after breastfeeding! I do plan to get some more for when I have DC3 though! I'm 36DD, so can't say how they'd be for the larger bust, but I'm sure they'd be good and will offer more support than anything else could.

Are they the wrap style crossover ones or the ones that look like a sports bra?

I had both, really liked my wrap style ones from mothercare. I wouldn't say they were terribly supportive, but combined with breast pads they kept me from leaking all over the sheets. I'm the same bra size as you OP.

The ones that look like sports bras yank - they have 2 for £20 and, like you say, I'm not expecting them to be that supportive but hopefully might help with any leakages etc.

The ones I got back in 2003 were the basic sports bra / crop top looking ones, but I just had a look and they seem to have gone up in the world now!!! I shall definitively have to invest! Are the crossover ones just sleep bras or do they work as nursing bras as well?

thanks, will get a couple then :)

I have the Mcare crossover sleep bras that come in a 2 pack, they are very comfy for the larger chested lady. have not road tested them for nursing yet but I did have some in a similar style before which were very easy for night feeds.

gdmts1981 · 31/01/2011 15:53

I've bought some because my boobs just got so heavy that at night they were getting unweildy/uncomfortable (and I'm only 21 weeks!)

I have to say they are worth wearing now - forget nursing or preventing leaks etc!!!

Oh and I'm now a 38GG (34G before) - eek

I've got the MC soft ones and wear them every night, even though I'm huge. I'm spilling out of them but it's better than flopping about all over the place Smile Really comfy too.

lolajane2009 · 31/01/2011 16:13

are these any good for helping to sleep on sore breasts in your first trimester?

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 31/01/2011 16:15

I have both the crossover and the crop style, find the crossover more supportive (36F).

lola - I sleep in mine when pg and find they help a lot with tender nipples and breasts.

I wear the carriwell night time bra and recommend them to anyone who will listen!

Where can you go to be measured? I am not sure I want to know how big I have become!

snowangels1 · 31/01/2011 19:14

well, the mothercare night time feeding ones I was looking at dani were in clothes sizes (like 10, 12 etc). THere are websites that show you how to measure yourself for a bra but I always get measured in a specialist bra store as different makes/types of bra tend to fit differently.
