I haven't been worried to date (32 weeks now) about the amount of movement I've been feeling, which has been very healthy and active in all my experience (first pregnancy).

Was seeing the midwife the other day when he took a call from an expectant mum who was obviously worried and the decreased movements she'd been experiencing. So I inquired further and my midwife said that I should be feeling 10 or more seperate movements a day. Any less and I should contact them.

My question is how does one tack movements without driving oneself crazy? I can't imagine having to pay strict close attention and pulling out a note pad every time the little guy wiggles around.

it used to be 10 kicks but now its more whats normal for your baby. mine doesnt move all that much early morning but come teatime and evening it goes mental!!!maybe take a day or so and monitor what seems to happen over course of the day? xx

As per sam26 I would say what feels normal for you and your baby.

I'm 37 weeks and have only had about 2 occasions so far where I've thought...'hmmm..baby has been a bit quiet lately', and then I've paid attention and actually it has been fine, loads of movements really!

I don't think there is any need to have a 'log' of movements, just if you feel it has been quiet, then keep more of an eye on it.
