hi
since being pg I have gone from a 34D to a current just pushing 34G at 31.5 weeks
I'm trying to plan what to buy for when the milk arrives as all my friends have taken great amusement in chortling 'not enough letters in the alphabet for you when the milk arrives' etc but no actual help...
What I'd like to do is order some bras now for then. I'm guessing an H/I? is there a super comfy nursing bra anyine can recommend?
I've struggled with reg mat bras and the only comfy ones I've used are panache sophie at £28 from bravissimo, but I dont think they'll be as comfy after due to the lavce etc and assume I'll need something cotton
any bigger boobed ladies able to advise?
much appreciated
thanks!

I went and bought new nursing bras and nice matching undies after my DC was born. It was all a bit pointless as comfort is key and somedays (if I had tried to express) I would be MahoooOOOsive and other days like a rung out sponge. Make sure the measurement under the bust is accurate and I would reccommend a slightly padded/moulded teashirt bra that is about the right size so that if you are smaller it doesn't matter. Maybe get some tshirt bras that have thin cup fabric that is quite stretchy too. Not necessarily cotton, but fairly plain. (Flesh colour is good - not attractive but practical)

I bought all mine in the mothercare sale mail order as it was too hard to do shopping.

Don't know if you're doing NCT, but my local NCT offered a feeding bra-fitting service. I went to see the lady towards the end of my pregnancy, and she was trained to guesstimate what size you would be after the birth. She got it about right, and I bought a couple of bras from her which were good for immediately after the birth.

However, the bras I got from her weren't really my style (too lacy), so I got some t-shirt feeding bras after DD was born from Mothercare (online). Very comfy and cheap.

Are you planning to breastfeed? Am assuming so based on your milk comment.

If so, my local John Lewis were so good at fitting and guestemating size of nursing bra required(plus room for pads etc).

Their advice (which I think is pretty standard) is to wait until c.38 weeks when your bump should have dropped at bit. I would only get 1-2 nursing bras up front then buy more (send someone else if shopping post baby fills you with horror) when you are sure of the fit.

I have found both times that I've moved into a smaller back and cup as time goes on so you are really best to get as few as you can get away with at the start. One wash, one wear, one spare in case of leaks worked for me as I was washing pretty much hourly daily when DC were small.
