Do babies engage then pop out again?

My baby has been breech since 34 weeks. ECV failed last week (37 weeks) and I am due to have a section.

I didn't feel her turn but I am convinced that yesterday she was head down and my bump was a lot lower and I could feel the position of the baby was different. Her head wasn't where it had been for the last few weeks.

I also had a very low down heaviness/achiness that was bordering on painful and made it difficult to stand. I am also sure that this was the baby being engaged (this is my second and DS didn't engage so I don't know what it feels like).

I went to bed and there was a massive pop that made me jump. Bump is now higher again and when she moves, she is in a different place to yesterday.

Is it possible for them to engage and then come out again with such a pop? I nearly went to the hospital last night as I couldn't get her to move after the 'popping' but eventually she did.

I am seeing my GP today, just to be on the safe side as the pain was quite sore. It has all but gone now, after the popping, but it still aches a bit. I'm pretty sure she is back to being breech as well. I know she had turned, but today its very hard to tell what is where.

If it's your second, then I think the answer is yes, as everything is a lot looser. Hope baby sorts itself out!

Mine swan around like a fish till labour! Here there and everywhere. Think you just have to be careful about that the cord doesn't get wrapped up and tangled. Monitor her kicks and movements and good luck with the doctor x x
