pain in previous c-section scar at 32 weeks pregnant

I am nearly 32 weeks with DC2 - last night I was lying in bed, curled up on my side when I sneezed and got a really sharp pain in my c-section scar. It was like a cramp or a stitch and quite painful ? took a little while to go away (say half a minute or so ? not long but not instant either), then it felt hot for a little while ? not to the touch, but inside IYSWIM. Anyway, the whole thing passed in about a minute ? I?m not in pain now and the baby has been moving as normal. Had the pain continued I?d have rung the labour ward but as it passed I thought I?d wait and tell my midwife about this at my appointment tomorrow. In the meantime I wondered if anyone else had any experience of this? And what happened?

Thanks

I have been getting the same. Am not 100% sure whether it's to do with c-section scar or just general ligaments around there. I have had this from sneezing, rolling over in bed, and last week from doing mat exercises in the gym (so badly then I was in agony and thought I was going to have to get taken off in an ambulance!). It has always passed really quickly though, so I've never asked about it. Let me know what your midwife says!

Will do grumpyfish - it's the first time it's happened to me and I had a little moment where I thought I'd split myself open...!! Shock

I'm 32 weeks also and have exactly the same pain as you decscribe. It's happened to me a few times now, usually if I have a big sneeze or cough, its like a strong burning sensation, it's painful to say the least but only lasts a short time.

I mentioned it to my midwife about 3 week ago, she said some pulling/stretching of the scar is normal and didn't seem concerned.

Whenever it happens to me, it takes my breath away for a moment but once it passes its fine. I might mention it again at my next appointment( i get a different midwife for each check-up so it would be interesting to hear another persons opinion) and see what she says.

When are you due flootshoot? I'm due 18th March Smile

23rd March - so not quite 32 weeks yet (wishful thinking).

I feel dreadful today (sympathy please) - nausea, stomach ache, backache.... if one of you could see your way to getting my boss to let me go home withour me asking her that would be great! Wink

You need to mention this to your midwife. I had an emergency section nearly 10 years ago and then had it resutured a year later. I still get pain now. My scar nearly ruptured 5 years ago when I was having my son.

IARFN, I am going to tell her tomorrow. I'm keeping a close eye on things for now. Sorry to hear about your experience, sounds horrific! I hope you are ok now. Smile
