Oh boy!! I'm finding the pram decision stressful! Second only to trying to think of names!
I think I have narrowed it down to 3 - Silver Cross Surf, iCandy Peach or the Uppababy Vista. These are not the baby names I have chosen, rather the prams I am considering.
I have a golden retriever and like to get out and walk and it needs to be compatable with Maxi Cosi car seat. Anyone got some advice?
Baby names for both sexes also appreciated.
Thanks. :)

iCandy peach is great. I love it. But.... Depends where you walk the dog, I find if I take it through a muddy field the wheels get clogged with mud as the front wheels have a cover over them and the mud gets caught between that and the wheel. Having said that, I love it and wouldn't change it and now walk the dog round the less muddy woods than park!

Oh do look at the Mountain Buggy, I have a lab that I walk across the New Forest, through mud, on the beach, everywhere and I can even push it with one hand. However, I would recommend getting a secondhand one from ebay that is a couple of years old as in 2010 Mountain Buggy were bought by Phil and Ted and everyone says they are not quite so good as now made in China. That's if you are OK with secondhand, I know with my first I WANTED new, I'm on now my fourth and looking for secondhand double one!

the Moby thing looks lovely but what's the difference between a long piece of material and one of these?

BikeRunSki · 23/01/2011 16:42

Phil and Ted Sport -
takes a Maxi Cosi
Super off road and through fields
Fits in a smallish car boot
Narrow enough to navigate through shops
Suitable from birth with cocoon thing

only down side with PT is sport discontinued - might have to look at explorer if you wanted new

i cant comment on your short list but i have a boxer that walk alot though feilds and mud. i have the musty urbam rider and have used it for 2 children. it has been used constantly for 3 years and it is still as good as the day i bought it, or it would be if i cleaned the wheels. it is easy to push with just one hand. only down sides are you need a biggish boot

cool, so I could just get some material and do it - what are they made of or doesn't it matter? xxx

YogaMummy2B · 23/01/2011 20:18

Oooh Loopy - love the look of the Moby Wrap, I have just bought a Babasling but this looks a lot more secure, if not a little complicated?

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, I need to make a decision by Wednesday as I have to order the pram or the baby will be here before it has a mode of transport!

I did consider a Bill Phil and Teds when I was first looking but was a little concerned that it wasn't reversible and wasn't great for newborns. Any thoughts?

I also like the look of the Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle - but they seem to be very rare and I can't find a supplier to have a look at one.

Anyone have a Silver Cross Surf? The Which review seems good! I'd love to hear from someone that has one.

Oh - I LOVE all you lovely angels on Mumsnet, thanks everyone :)

Me thinks I am a little pregnant and emotional!

I'm now on dc3 and have been a bit of a pram buying addict over the past 9 years, always trying to find the one that met all my needs. I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as the perfect pram.

If you have room I would go for a second hand mountain buggy or quinny freestyle for dog walking, going on the beach, through woods and off road - they will also take a maxi cosi car seat with adaptors. Then another pushchair for out and about round town. I have just got a Mutsy slider which is just brilliant, seat faces both ways, can use car seat or carry cot and is ok off road although I wouldn't want to get it in too much of a state!! I suspect though that whatever you buy you may find yourself thinking that you had got something else instead!
