Clothes for newborn girls that aren't baby pink

I hate baby pink. I know it's irrational but it's icky. I'm having a dd in April and want to do some shopping for basics. They're all bloody baby pink.

Can anyone suggest somewhere to look for sleeps suits, cardi, jackets etc that are a bit more funky?

Oh Baby and Nippaz with Attitude are both good. My DD never wore pink.

Asda had some lemon and mint green girls stuff in my local store today.

I found out I was having a girl a few weeks ago, promptly followed by finding out I like hardly any girls clothes. I especially loathe baby pink and have instructed all family to not dare buy baby anything pink at all, or I will be inundated with the stuff. (my Mum has sensibly opted for white sleepsuits and vests. Grin )

I have found the supermarkets (Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys) do nice sleepsuits and vests, some pink but nicer shades and 'funky' and some orangey, lilac, purple and girly but not sickly sweet.

I also found Mamas and Papas do some really nice bits and Monsoon have some clothes that are to die for, although maybe not many suitable for a tiny newborn, but from a few months old. In fact, I could spend a fortune in Monsoon... Blush

Just seen the Next summer catalogue, there are some nice bright green/pink/yellow newborn clothes. They look yum.

Imp, you probably want to read the rules about free advertising for your business.

This website does fantastically funky stuff, although it does stock some of the more expensive lines, eg Green Baby: www.loveitloveitloveit.co.uk/ (Not sure if it's OK to link to sites like this? Am not the owner!)

We got some stuff from there in the sale at Christmas. I don't know if we're having a boy or girl but am dreading a wave of pink if it's a girl. So I thought a few bits and pieces of bright purple and green etc. would be a comfort to have to hand if necessary.

Having the same problem - but compounded by the fact that I've been given so many things from relatives and MOL has knitted loads of baby pink/pale yellow/mint things. Hmmm....

Gonna have to lump it I reckon.

Though did pick up some good bits at a nearly new sale the other day, and noticed a lot of the funkier, brighter coloured stuff seemed to have Monsoon or H&M labels inside, so try them, is my advice. Or, another post I saw recently recommended buying white, then using fabrice dye in strong colours.

Good luck!

Oh yes, a friend of mine says the pale pink takes dye brilliantly, and most of the stuff her in-laws gave her ended up black!

I love Green Baby and Frugi, got a fab snow suit from Green Baby before Christmas. Just wish I could afford to kit out DD in it every day.
