Is crying an indicator of imminent birth?

I've held it together fine throughout my pregnancy but am now 40+3 and I started crying as soon as I woke up this morning. And then again by 10am and again by 11am. I'm desperate for some signs that baby is on its way, could this be a sign???

Could be. People say it makes you very emotional. However, I woke up crying this morning too but that was on account of having a very painful pile :( I'm 39 + 3 so can't wait to get it over with now as my doc said it won't go now till after the birth :(

I have no idea medically, but I remember having a strangely elated day before my waters broke in the evening. I mean really overly happy, especially seeing how miserable and overdue I was. I was even getting ready to go out for dinner with friends when it happened, which I had decided to organise after a week or so of staying in all the time.

So I reckon a sudden flip in emotions must be a sign of something going on.

Someone knowledgeable will probably be along soon. Good luck Grin.

I remember posting a thread about this VERY thing about 5m ago

Unfortunately I had about another week of wailing to wait

I think it was just the utter pissed-offness of late pregnancy Grin

Being overdue is horrible, you have my sympathies

I think its just being really fed up! I was crying today because I can't face another day of it.

i think you're really pissd off with being pregnant!

take yourself for a walk if you can, get those spirits up (and walking is good to position foetus nicely)

For me it was a sign, not that I noticed it as such, was too depressed to see what it was. My older children remember it vividly, as "mummy crying - then the baby came!!!!" But unfortunately it is equally possible as others have said that you have just reached the end of your rope woth waiting.

I hope that it happens soon for you.

It was a sign for me. I cried in the early hours of that morning, the next day I had my baby. Good luck!

faverolles · 18/01/2011 15:08

I cried on and off all of last week, but I'm still here with a baby inside.
Probably not what you want to hear though!
Hope it is a sign for you

I've been bawling my eyes out for the last 3 days. And am still pregnant. 40+2 to be precise.

with my last pregnancy i got to a day when i was just fed up, i didnt want to tal to anyone, was grumpy and just had enough in amassive way- he came that night.

up until then i was uncomfy, teary, had enough.. but this particular day i just felt as low as can be.

i am crying all the time now, i cannot watch anything about people dying, anything over sentimental. i cried watching my husband and little boy play on the beach today. feel maudlin and ridiculous.. i think it is late pregancy its a stinker!!!!

i am never doing this again, ever, ever!!!!!!

good luck, not long to go now.. even if you just sit looking at a watch until the induction date the end is in sight!
