If I'm reading it right then nothing after the 28th week is covered, birth isn't covered and nor are 'any consequence' which presumably means the baby?

Also 28th week being as of 28+0 or up to 28+6?

Can anyone quickly recommend an insurer which would cover me? I have 3 days...

Check out Direct line. My husband (who is an insurance broker) seems to think they are very good. Good luck.

Ahh but see Southsearocks thread on waters broken in America, she seems to be having some trouble with them..

GoldFrakkincenseAndMyrrh · 17/01/2011 10:25

'Twas that thread that made me check bubandbump!

phone yours and ask - you may find they just want it declaring and a small premium rise to cover pregnancy.

lucy101 · 17/01/2011 10:42

You also need to check that your baby would also be covered if you gave birth abroad. AA didn't (so I cancelled my premium with them) Insureandgo did. You need to actually ask them this.

I had City bond.

jasmine51 · 17/01/2011 11:44

Ring and ask them - I had expensive insurance which didnt explicitly mention pg at all so assumed there were no exclusions. I checked with them and they considered pg a 'preexisting medical condition' and as such was excluded in entirety by the small print! Glad I checked...and then changed insurers! I use a specialist insurer for adventure activities now so not one that would be relevant to most tbh

JimmyChoo17 · 17/01/2011 12:57

im with atlas direct who covered me - unless I had been told not to travel and any travel had to be within the limits of the airline I was travelling with (most would cover your stage) as long as you land within agreed timescale too.

They covered for anything other than a normal childbirth so only if i got complications which would be unforseen. They recommended I visited Drs and confirmed I was ok for travel which they then put in my notes in case there was any claims. (There wasnt) I was 11 - 13 weeks whilst on a longhaul trip and had previous losses.

Overall I like them as an insurer as they cover my diving with no extra premium...sadly...diving is now off!! ;-)

GreenBee (john lewis) are quite good on non-bog-standard insurance, call them and ask them.

MainlyMaynie · 17/01/2011 16:43

Directline. They have no restrictions as long as there are no known complications before you travel, I spoke to them a couple of weeks ago.

I think it's Direct Travel southsea is having problems with, they aren't the same as Directline.

emoo777 · 17/01/2011 16:49

It is Club Travel Direct that Southsea is having the problem with not Directline (she confirmed name in the thread today).

buttonmoon78 · 17/01/2011 17:14

I can't remember which one it was but if you google 'late pg travel insurance' then you should come up with the goodies. I filled mine in online and it gave me two options for less than £30.

minibmw2010 · 17/01/2011 17:15

I just had a quote with Aviva for £43.76 which covered me for 10 nights in Maldives and I rang to double-check and they confirmed that they don't consider pregnancy to be a problem which needs disclosing so long as you are within your allowed time limit to fly.

Aha. Found it. www.essentialtravel.co.uk/travelinsurance/pregnant-travel-insurance.asp

I've never posted a link before so I hope it works!
