I am 40 weeks today. I have hyperemesis and SPD. I am FED UP. So far this week I have : Eaten industrial quantities of pineapple (Thursday daytime) - did nothing. made DP have sex with me (Friday night) - did nothing. Went for a very busy and brisk 3hr walk around the town centre (Saturday daytime) - did nothing. Had a hot curry (Saturday night) - did nothing except give me heartburn and the farts. I have been drinking raspberry leaf tea religiously since 37 weeks.

WHY WON'T HE GET OUT????????

My other 3 dc were induced at 34+5, 40 weeks, and 40+2. My maternity ward is so short staffed at the moment that they are refusing to even see me to book an induction date until I am 41+1. And they have said it could be up to 8 days AFTER that before they have space for me to be induced. Which will take me over 42 weeks.

Nothing works but time.

If it did then there would be no need for women to go in to be induced in hospital at 'term'.

I would like to agree with those who have said nothing works. I do not know why I wasted so much time over the past 2 weeks thinking that one of these rediculous things might work. Yes it does help keep your mind occupied but that is all! I have tried them all (apart from caster oil which is dangerous and puts mum and baby at risk). I am still pregnant and going in for my induction tomorrow.

The things I found helpful were the reflexology as this was lovely and relaxing and so nice not to have swollen ankles for a few hrs. I also have been enjoying walks with my DH as we chat and have time together and also I find the rasberry leaf tea and baths relaxing.

I do however hope you find something that works for you, or that your little one arrives soon for you. I know going overdue is not fun without all the problems you are having.

(I no longer answer my phone but instead update my FB to say 'no baby' to stop ppl asking).

All the best.

If you find something that works let me know, I am 40+8 with DC3 today and have tried:
-sex
-had 2 sweeps
-long walks
-bouncing on birth ball
etc.

With DC2 I had acupuncture the day I went into labour, but am pretty sure it was just coincidence and don't have the $$$ for it this time around.

I have concluded that there is bugger all I can do apart from repeat the mantra
