I'm sat here (8.30am) trying to talk myself out of a can of coke.
It's the only think that seems to help with the nausea.
I need a good substitute and some will power Smile.

i have dont nothing but drink coke throughout my pregnancy, the full fat stuff aswel, had my 36 week anti natal appt yest and found during my pregnancy so far i have only gained 2 pounds, (god knows how!)which is a masssive relief for me as i was previously overweight :)

I also craved coke in early pregnancy, but having decided that I couldn't possibly give up tea, I was only gave in and had some as a very ocassional treat, mainly to keep my caffine intake within reasonable limits but I've also had bleeding gums all the way through pregnancy so didn't really want to loose all my teeth!

As the coke craving was also accompanied by orange fanta type drinks craving I found that fizzy water and cordial went quite a long way towards satisfying the urge.

Since beingpg with DD (now pg with DC2), I have drunk pints and pints of fizzy - no-sugar lemon squash with fizzy water, always through a straw (can I call wanting to drink through a straw a craving?).

Sometimes as much as 7 pints a day...

I survived on white toast and full fat Coke for the first 4 months of my second pregnancy (hyperemesis is a cruel affliction!).

Might be worth trying to curb morning sugar/caffeine cravings, though, maybe by eating a filling, nourishing snack last thing at night and then as soon you wake up.

American ginger ale, samosas and skittles were the only thing I could tolerate during my pregancy. I did try to eat healthily, but failed.
I spewed daily till she was out.
Don't beat yourself up about something that trivial.
