im 26+1 pregnant. and yesterday woke up with a severe head ache and then started seeing, flashing lights in front of my eyes and also this sounds strange but like i could see my pulse in my eyes. anyway i know this can be a sign of high blood pressure, so i asked my mum to bring a blood pressure monitor for me i took it, and it was 155/90 (im normaly around the 110/70 mark) it got me worried but then i started feeling better and the headache went and then bp went back to normal. then today the total opposite happend started feeling really dizzy and lightheaded and my heart was pounding, so i retook bp and this time it had dropped to 89/48 and pulse was 155.
i know the machine is quite accurate as my partner and mum took theres to be sure it was right and theres was normal. but now i dont know what to do as i know docotrs tell u not to check your own bp. but i just dont know what this could be. does anyone else know?

So glad you're ok! And glad you got checked out. The blood pressure drops are weird though.

really weird it happend today and i got really scared as i was alone with my 2 year old and thought i was just gonna pass out and i was worried for him incase it did happen, it dropped right down to 84/29 which is weird, i know it can happen while been pregnant but surely not everyday

Might be worth going and having a word with a female gp if you have one? They can be more sympathetic and therefore take your concerns seriously. Just cos you are under the mw doesn't mean you can't see your gp ;)

yea ive got an appointment for saturday. but ive had some problems with other things in the last few weeks and mw or gp seem to be passing me off all time, so i just feel like im pushed to side all time, and things are not been taken seriously, so ive got to point were i hate asking for advie now if that makes sense lol

It does. Is there a different doc you could see? They shouldn't be like that but unfortunately a lot are. I'm lucky with my doc she is brilliant, but usually when I find a good one, they leave :(
