Measuring 1 week ahead at 14 week scan

Obviously I'm not concerned or anything. I doubt I am actually a week ahead as I had several early scans and was never more than a day ahead on those. The consultant said the 20 week scan is now the 'official' dating scan and if they need to they'll change my dates then. I have previously had big babies, DS2 was born at 38 weeks weighing 10lb.

Has anyone else measured ahead by much at around 14 weeks and not actually been ahead but gone on to have a big baby?

I have to admit, I'd love another big baby!

Thanks!

I measured a week ahead at a similar time and DS2 came out 11lb 3oz! Big but beautiful Grin

I'm very probably wrong, but I was under the impression that there is much more growth variation at 20 weeks, so that even if dates do not appear consistent with 12 week scan, dates are rarely changed...?

My dating scan was also carried out at 20 weeks, according to my Sonographer this is when dates are more likely to be accurate, as this was totally at odds with lots of other people who all seem to have dating scans at 12 weeks I did a bit of googling and it would seem that there isn't a huge amount of variation in accuracy between dating scans at 12 weeks and scans at 20 but they have to use different calculations dependent on when dating scan is carried out.
