HI

Im currently nearly 14 wks pregnant and for the past 9 weeks have had severe sickness.

I mangae to eat a few things each day but mostly I throw it back up and I really am not eating very much, I usually eat sooooo much! but have had no appetite for anything!

I have lost weight and feel so down I spend most of my time in bed and getting really depressed as I have no iterest in anything! I am on Anti Depressants but not sure if they're working...

I dont want to be a burden on my GP or Midwife and just wondered when I should spek to some one?

Try nibbling on some Arrowroot biscuits they are good for helping with morning sickness... most supermarkets sell them

I had bad nausea but I didnt actually be sick but I found Arrowroot biscuits took the nausea away...

Hope that Helps?

Go to your gp and get some medication! I'm 15 weeks now but ended up in hospital on a drip at 8 weeks with my sickness. I'm taking 2 different drugs now and I'm sick about once a day on average but thats it. I do still feel quite sick most of the time which is pretty miserable but still 100x better then how I was.

I ran out of my cyclizine for a few days over christmas and became pretty bad pretty quickly so tablets are def still needed.

You're not being a burden, what are gps there for if its not to help make people better?!

I can totally understand why this is making you so depressed. I've been miserable as sin the last few weeks as just when I thought it was getting a bit better it all seems to have got a bit worse again. I can't imagine how I'd be if I was still being sick all the time like you are.

Second the GP advice, get down there, especially if you're also having difficulty keeping liquids down. I went on cyclizine due to constant vomiting (just escaped being put on a drip) and it was a complete lifesaver.

Oh you poor thing. 'Morning sickness' is a ridiculous name isn't it? I was relatively lucky in that mine didn't last too long, but I found a few things I could eat (crisp sandwiches; jacket potato with cheese mainly!) and stuck with them. I gave up on any concept of 'meals' and just went for 'food' whenever I could face it.

I've also lost weight in my first trimester and was worried, but the midwife has reassured me that the baby will take whatever nutrients they need from me so I should just eat whatever I can face.

The midwife also said that if I was worried about anything at all I should call her - she'd rather hear from me every ten minutes than have me sat at home worrying. I obviously can't guarantee it, but I bet your GP and midwife would much rather you asked for help rather than suffered in silence.

In terms of not being interested in anything, can you just try tiny things to get you up and out? (Maybe a short walk to a local park for some fresh air? Go to a cafe to people watch and read the paper? Then reward yourself with a nap when you get home!)

Good luck. I hope you feel better soon!
