10.5 Symptoms Vanished????

Just looking for some advice really...

I have had 3 mc's in the past 9 months, am currently 10.5 weeks pregnant, had scan at 9w and all was ok.

Had really painfull lower backache and lower tummy cramps on Friday (awake all night) eased off on saturday, but my pregnancy symptoms went too?.

I am now really worried that I'm having a mmc or mc. My sickness has vanished, boobs feel like empty balloons and just don't feel pregnant? if that makes sense??.

Spoken to EPU, but unless I'm bleeding they won't see me.

Anybody experienced anything like this? I know I'm symptom watching but after the losses I no longer trust my body.

thanks for reading X

I had a similar experience. I experienced bad tummy cramps and backache in the night at about 7w (worse than period pain) - no bleeding either, but was convinced was mc starting. Then all symptoms went overnight at 9w, never to return. Local EPU did scan me - all was well. Am now 21+4. Other MNers have posted that a good early scan is a positive sign. All the best to you - sending lots of sticky-bean vibes your way... x

You do go though a period of not feeling like you are pregnant at all & with all the period-type pains of your womb expanding it can be worrying. You can always do another pregnancy test if they won't give you another scan?

I had a very similar experience at about 9 weeks and ended up at the EPU for a scan because I was so worried. It turned out everything was fine and most of my symptoms (except the sore boobs) returned a few days later. I'm now 23+6 and all is going ok so far

My symptoms went at 10.5 weeks in my first pregnancy - quite normal at that stage as the placenta takes over. Now have a lovely 10 month old baby girl! You are bound to feel nervous about this given your history. I would insist on a scan if you continue to worry, to set your mind at rest, but am sure everything is fine.

xx

Same as everyone else - if you have had 3 mcs you will, I'm sure, be aware that they dont usually start with pains so take comfort from that.
Also, I had some alarming pains at around 10/11 weeks and asked my MW about them - she said that around that time, the uterus starts to move upwards out of the pelvis and this can cause some cramping.
If you cant wait until 12 wks for your scan (and believe me, I know how time drags), is there any chance you could afford a private scan? In my area they charge £180 for the 12 wk scan but did a 'just checking' scan for me at 10 weeks for £60 - might be worth investigating? good luck x

My pregnancy symptoms started to ease around 10 weeks too, and mostly disappeared by 12. It's completely normal for this to happen between 10-14 weeks as the placenta takes over.

I completely understand why you're nervous, but the risks of miscarriage are much reduced once you have had a scan and seen the heartbeat.

I hope everything goes well for you x

Oh yeah, forgot the placeta factor as well - thats correct, can cause a resurgence of MS or an easing of symptoms.

I had 2 mcs before this pregnancy and panicked when my very strong symptoms suddenly (literally overnight) completely disappeared at about 9 weeks.

Just had my 12 week scan and all is fine.

That said, given your history, I'm surprised that they won't offer you a scan for reassurance. Could you ask your midwife to push on your behalf?

I hope that everything turns out well. I know how nervous pregnancy is after miscarriages. Very best of luck.

Thank you all sooo much.
I am ringing the EPU today, and asking them if I can please see them.
Will let you know how it goes.

Thanks Ladies X

Thank god for this thread! I am in such a tizz because my previously really sore boobs have gradually gone back to normal at 10 weeks and I've been finding all kinds of other signs that things aren't going well (bloating and constipation gone, nausea just occasional).
I have convinced myself that things have all gone wrong and have booked in for a private scan later today to check. I saw the heartbeat at 6.5 weeks so am hanging on to a thread of hope that maybe things will be ok...
I just really needed to read something positive so thanks!

milano If you have seen the heartbeat then there is only a very small chance things have now gone wrong. When I had my mcs the consultant drew me a really useful timeline of early pg showing the key stages of change that can either be deemed 'danger stages' or can produce changes that can be disconcerting.
I wish I still had that and could find a way of publishing it as i have never seen it in any book. It showed things like the timing of implantation, the movement of the uterus, the timing of the switch between corpus luteum and placenta hormone production etc. It has been a great comfort to me when I have detected changes.
I'm sure your private scan will turn out to be comforting and fun - say hi to the bean!

It's all fine! Grin
Thanks Jasmine - that info sounds like it would be really useful in early pregnancy.

Yay yay yay - well done, so pleased for you -not just that your bean is ok but also that you have got rid of some of the rubbish symptoms of pg...not feeling sick is not an excuse to eat the fridge though ha ha!

Fab news (Milano)!!!Smile.

I sat in the EPU for most of today, and thankfully they fitted me in late afternoon.

The baby was totally fine Grin!!!!!! infact baby was waving and dancing around.
I have never been so relieved in my whole life.

Thank you all so very much, I am so gratefull for all your help, and for sharing your experiences...thank god for "Mumsnet".
