Been ttc for a year now: nothing happening. All tips gratefully received- even promise to road test each and every one! Regular 28 day cycle. Just bought Angus castus and soy isoflavones today from Holland and Barratt. Any success stories on these please? Please please help! Feel that time is running out fast. No kids yet. Full of maternal love- maybe just biological clock?! TIA

Hi fx,

My cousin who was ttc for a few years for her first dc, gave me the tip of having (TMI!) an orgasm the same time as your DH. We caught pretty quickly doing this and Ovulation kits. It may have been a coincidence but is worth a try! Best of luck x

take prenatal vitamin and DHA make your partner take DHA as well. It will provide balance to your system and provide a good start to your unborn child in terms of folic acid and all that good stuff that you baby will need.

babynelly2010 · 10/01/2011 03:43

oh yeah, make sure you get purified DHA

It took me 6 months to get my bfp and as I always fell first time with the other 3 it seemed forever!!

The thing that worked for me, and is now helping with ms, was vitamin b6. I originally went to see a kinesiologist and she went through everything that I was deficient in, and I was massively deficient in b6. As a rough guide, she takes 1 drop a day and I had to take 40 drops for a month and then down to 30. I ran out of her mega bucks vitamins so am now taking Holland and Barratt ones to help with ms.

After the first month, my af totally changed, and just seemed "healthier". Wasn't so long, not painful and much better colour (sorry tmi). Then the following month I got my bfp.

I also recommend a 6 month pre-paid, use it or lose it gym membership Hmm.

Sorry for being so naive: but what is DHA?

Hi FXXX - thinking of you. Our first DC took two years. We had basic tests done - DH was very pleased to discover that he was Mr Average sperm count. With no obvious problems we were told to sit it out. Eventually we were being referred on to the local hospital on the way to IVF. We gave up being able to get our BFP the old fashioned way so had resigned ourselves to medical intervention. Of course a month or two later the BFP appeared!

Is it possible to get basic blood & sperm tests done without panicing your DH? Just explaining that these are to make sure that you are both in peak physical condition?

Just a thought but most people TTC dont say anything in RL so many of those people who just fall pregnant at the drop of a hat may in fact have been TTC for years. You are not alone!

All best wishes.

I highly (HIGHLY) recommend reflexology - try to find a properly certified practitioner who specialises in fertility issues. I swear that it helped conceive DD (After a year of trying).

I second (third? fourth?) the holiday recommendation - we went on one last 'big' holiday before TTC DC2 (Afterall - we knew it had taken a year to conceive DD so were expecting to be ttc for a long time again.) 2 weeks later, COPIOUS amounts of alcohol & sun and bingo am now 12 weeks pregnant with DC2.

It might also be helpful for your DH to go on multivitamins - there are a few Father-to-be multivitamins available now.

Good luck...
