They last for say 30-45 seconds, very tight, uncomfortable & heading towards painful.
Have been in bed for a few hours resting, had paracetamol, and got a warm (not hot) hot water bottle. DH is running me a bath now.

It has been going on for about 5 hours now, but not getting any closer together. It has happened before but not lasting this long.

I lost a bit of my mucas plug on boxing day but was told it was fine and it would refill?!

The last few days I've been losing more discharge (or wee Blush ) than usual but assumed that was the little one getting heavier.

I am seeing the midwife and my consultant tomorrow afternoon.
Would you wait until then if nothing else happened/got worse in the meantime?

Hope all is still well. You've had plenty of time for the steriods to do their stuff so I'm sure baby would be absolutely fine if born now. All the same, let's hope your stubborn cervix hangs on in there!

HangingbaublesofBethlehem · 05/01/2011 22:09

you're doing so well, I'm so pleased to hear you are being looked after. Smile

NoSleepTonight · 06/01/2011 15:20

Bump still doing well, off for scan in a few mins to check everything.
My heart is in an irregular rhythm so then having an ECG to check it's nothing dangerous. I may just be made like it.
Still waiting on test results from the other days, hopefully some will be back later today.
If nothing much shows up in anything I may be allowed to sleep at home tonight so I can spend some time with the boys. fingers crossed!

great news, hang in there!

SarahScot · 07/01/2011 17:02

How're things today?

NoSleepTonight · 07/01/2011 17:24

Hi all,

I didn't make it home as they decided the 40 minute travel time was too risky just in case. But I am allowed some 'time out' tomorrow to go to my mil's (5 mins away) so I can see the children properly away from the hospital as my 6 year old gets upset.

For 30 weeks bump is a good size, looking like he's about 3 and a half pounds, though obviously this is only an estimate. My fluid levels are on the low end of normal, but not a major concern. My cervix looked like it may be giving, but they couldn't tell too much from the scan as they didn't want to use the internal probe & risk making things worse.

Contractions are now more like 25 minutes apart which is good news, but they're stronger which is not so great.

Test results that are back are showing no sign of infection :)

It all sounds positive (apart from not getting home). I imagine every extra day still in there is a major bonus for your baby. Keep us posted and good luck. Smile

glad you're hanging in and thinking especially of your other children, I have a 6 year old and a 4 year old and I know what worry-warts they can be and you must be missing them like mad. Glad you're having a mini escape tomorrow.

Emoo · 08/01/2011 18:06

Hope you are having a good day today and they did let you out to see your kiddies properly.
