Too much movement?

Am expecting our first DC and I am probably being paranoid so am deferring to more experienced mums to tell me I'm being daft.

I am 32 wks and the last week the baby has been moving pretty much non stop from about mid afternoon until well after bed time. Whole undulating belly thing with wriggling, and elbows, knees etc

Is it just because there is less room to move and I am feeling it more? Would not want the baby in distress and should have done something about it.

Also last night had a sharp pain on the mid to lower left abdomen, roughly where the placenta is, a similar pain to pulling a muscle.

I am only 5 ft 2 so on law of averages there may be less room though I am spot on the growth chart?

Thanks

Hi, I too am 32 weeks and was lying in bed last night wondering about the massive increase in my baby's activity over the few days. I haven't been able to find much information unfortunately, so hopefully more experienced Mums may shed some light.

Me too! 32 weeks tomorrow and baby seems to be sticking out knees and elbows all over the place. Although this is my second dc i can't quite remember from 7 years ago. Though i do remember when i think he turned as it made me feel quite sick with the whole motion, but can't remember what week that was.

Was jusr looking through some old threads , while lookin gfor something else and other people in similar positions say generally not to worry, it's mainly if the movements are reduced to be concerned. But phone your mw should you become really concerned.HTH

I have the same, 'it' was wiggling so much the other night that I threw up three times!!! Was worried it wS impending swine flu but must have just been the movement!

I think it is just that the baby has grown but still has space to move around, I agree that reduced movement would make me worry more .... Such a crazy feeling though dh had his head on my tummy the other night and got a kick to the head which was hard enough to make him jump out of his skin!!

Excellent news, thanks all for posting.

Based on the amount of movement so far, this little one is not going to sit still for very long.

I got worried about this around the same time (32/33 weeks) - he was partying around the clock in there! I phoned the midwife because I was worried and was advised that it was normal and to keep an eye. They only really worry if the movements reduce. If you're still worried then it can't hurt to phone the midwife. :)
