Oblique Baby

Hello

I have read lots about breech babies and some about transverse, but haven't seen much about oblique babies.

At 28 weeks we were transverse and since week 30 oblique. My next mw appointment is next week when I will be 37 weeks.

The mw at my last appointment (34 weeks) kind of muted that if it stays oblique that it will not engage of it's own accord but didn't seem that bothered.

I don't think it has moved, all pregnancy I have never had much movement above my belly button and don't have any kicks, punches or head butts in the ribs which makes me think it probably hasn't made it's way to the exit yet Hmm

Has anyone had experience with oblique?

Thanks

DD was transverse or oblique right up to the last couple of weeks. I think the MW will be unconcerned because it's not uncommon for babies to get their heads down only very late on. I think it's too early to worry!

You could try googling "optimal foetal positioning" if you want to recline at odd angles to encourage downward drift.

My second, kept turning transverse to breech up until the day she was delievered, (by c section.) I informed them she was transverse when the went to do the section, but they ignored me, and found out for themselves, and had to be turned whilst on the table.
You will be scanned to check the lie closer to your due date. What you do have to keep an eye on at this late date, is that if you are unsure of the lie, and your waters break, to call an ambulance, as the cord could be anywhere, I was told if it happened to get on my hand and knees with bum in the air wherever I was, (which would have been fun with a toddler in tow!!)

my last was transverse they discovered at 36 weeks and I had to go into hozzie at 37 weeks because of it.To get head down, try wiggling your hips as though you are hula hooping. You will need to do it a lot but its worth it as it does work in a lot of cases. But like op says, they should check where it is. I have a scan at 36 weeks :)
