Tell me about your caffeine intake

It's a tiny, petty thing, but I'm struggling with this. I'm a tea jinny, I like lots of good strong mugs of Yorkshire tea, particularly in this weather.

Three years ago when I was pg the guidelines were 6 cups of tea per day. I could live with that and averaged about 4 cups. Now the guidelines say two cups which just isn't enough to keep body and soul together! I'm trying not to drink coke and have gone off chocolate so it's just the tea that's a problem. I am very fussy and fruit/green/de-caffeinated/rooibos tea just aren't an option

Please come and tell me that caffeine intake isn't a big deal really and it's just another silly rule. I promise to keep off pate and prawns :o

debka me too! 6 years after cutting down to ease anxiety and I can't drink caffeine after noon. I'm so sensitive now that I had a cheeky wispa before bed a couple of weeks ago and I was awake for hours :-( That said, it did indeed lower my general anxiety.

I only drink decaf anyway cos of my bp, but there are some good ones out there, Its trial and error. You could use double tea bags tho :)

Fairybubbles watch the diet coke, its good its decaf, but diet coke is actually worse than normal due to all the sweeteners they use instead. A midwife told me that when we were discussing my terrible bowels lol. Apparantly if you have IBS as I do, it completely wrecks them. Unfortunately only diet is caffeine free :( However if you drink decaf tea/coffee, you can drink normal coke happily :o

Hi, sorry if you've tried it, but you mention you like Yorkshire tea - have you tried Yourshire decaff? I like it :)
