Should I ring the ultrasound department?

I'm 12+1, first pregnancy and have decided to have the NT scan as it's just become available on the NHS is this area.

I know this has led to delays within the service as people are having to have their scans within a certain time.

I've just received my scan date for 11th January - but by this time I will be 14+1 according to the early scan I had in November!

I know it's only a couple of days but it clearly says in the leaflet with the scan date letter that the test is only accurate done between 11 weeks and 13+6.

Do you think I should ring them and explain, and see if they can bring it forward by a couple of days?

By the date of my last period it will be 13+6 exactly on the 11th Jan, but given I was on the pill when I conceived and hadn't had a pill-free cycle in over 10yrs, I have no idea how long my cycle is.

I'm really confused and don't know what to do!

Thanks for reading.

I'd ring and query it. I think the NT scan is based on your LMP due date and not altered (as already in the booking system), to reflect changed dates from early scans.

Give them a call and see if they can fit you in earlier... I had trouble also as my hospital were so busy - my scan was only just done in time - good luck
