Heartburn = A Girl...?

I've been having really bad heartburn for a few weeks now, started from about 26 weeks (ish) Today a friend mentioned that it's likely that I'm having a girl..? (don't know the sex)

Is this just another old wives tale or is there some truth in it? Should mention my friend has had 2 girls, heartburn with both!!

I would say heartburn can not guarentee the sex of a baby, but it can mean a baby with a lot of hair. I had terrible heartburn throughout my pregnancy and she was born with a full head of hair, as did my s.i.l who has had 3 babies, all with a full head of hair and all girls!

Incidently, I have been told that the male sperm will decide the sex of the baby and nothing else!

Baby 1 -- heartburn, was a boy with lots of hair (cuuuute little hairy ears)

Baby 2 -- heartburn, was a girl with a full head of hair but no hairy ears

Baby 3 -- hardly any heartburn (am carrying very low this time), is a girl, hair status TBC

Had horrendous heartburn with my bald DS and DD....
