hi there have ordered a mothercare spin in the black edition for feb delivery (due in march) but am wondring if anyone has any comments on it ?

plus points i can see are the unit can be a carrycot and seat unit so no extra storage and the pram liner/footmuff/raincover are all included and a maxi cosi can fit on it fabrics seem really lush as well have managed to get 75 quid off the 500 price as well

BUT im probably being snobby but im not sure i want a mothercare branded pushchair are they any good compared to the "fashionable" brands

have looked at every pram on the market online and am flexible on price and i cant find "the one"

originally wanted a bugaboo and had it ordered but having seen litrally 10 in town on sat i was kinda put off it may be silly but i dont want the same one as everyone else! put off the my3/4 for the same reason

i know im being whingy and dh doesnt want to listen to me anymore so i thought maby some other hormonal ladies might have the same problem

so any comments on the spin or something simalar ? keen to make a final decision before the vat increse!

Do you live in an area where it's that important what make your pram is? For me, it wasn't the brand name that was important, but the functions the pram had, having good reviews (which?, mumsnet etc) and the price. In my area there are loads of different brands of prams on the streets. I always clock them, but more to see if it's something I've heard of, not in a looking down my nose kind of way!

I looked at the Spin when on my pram search and TBH didn't really see the point of it's "USP" (the spin function) but it did tick all the other boxes. The downside was price, and they seemed to justify how expensive it was by the fact that you could spin it round. I wanted a pram that was parent and forward facing, and have never had to change it round at a moments notice!

There are other prams around that are comparable functions-wise. I saw on Which? the other day that the M&P Sola is their current best buy, and even before I saw that, I know that it would be my pram of choice if buying one now. Lovely colours, great functions and really good price (fits the Maxi Cosi too i think)

no not at all - the brands not important too me but im wondering if the more expensive ones are better made maybe than the own brand ones?

to be honest though the only place i can buy is mothercare as i'm not keen buing online if i can't return it if theres a fault etc... and on the two occasins i have been in the local independent shop the lady was so rude to me but thats a whole nother thread!

the is the sola maxi cosi compatible? and what is there customer service likes as ive seen a couple of bad reviews

also looked at the my 4 but it seemed a bit more bulky

Don't have any experience of M&P I'm afraid. I also looked at the My4 but went for a Britax Vigour in the end which was pretty similar but cheaper. The Sola is similar to what I have but looks a bit sleeker (and again is cheaper).

There have also been a few threads about Mothercare having crap customer service too, be warned!

Oh and a friend of mine has the Sola and a Maxi Cosi, not sure if you need to buy adaptors though.

Did you try it out a few times before ordering? Nothing really does away with feeling how the pushchair moves, comes apart - and how heavy it is.

We were going to get a My3 but ended up getting a Quinny Buzz after trying them out in store as it felt a lot sturdier. It also did everything that was important to us and the size/weight wasn't an issue for us.

As someone above said, the brand just wasn't important to me. What was important was what the pushchair did, partly that it would fit with our lifestyle (country walking, hardly ever using public transport, etc), and how sturdy/safe it felt.
